This game honestly is so aggravating. It was full of a bugs when I first started playing. They fixed some of them, but added a bunch of trash characters and abilities that makes this game enjoyable. The strat's in this game are braindead and truly low iq. Destructible walls seems cool, but actually its just garbage that everyone shoots through. Your character is always loud as ♥♥♥♥ and cant walk quietly. Coming from any sort of other tactical shooters, you will be severely disappointed. The only reason I play this game is to make my friends happy, and honestly all they do is complain about playing this game. It confuses me, i think its an addiction and they need help. I hope I don't become addicted to this trash, even with how few hours I have played. For the love of all that is holy, stay away. Uninstall if you have it and leave a bad review. If you don't have it, just go to a different game and be happy with your life.

TLDR; This game is half baked and missing ingredients.

This needs a lot of patches for it to be considered a good battlefield series game. I will update review once the game gets better with patches hopefully.

I have been playing Battlefield games since 1942. I never have been so disappointed with a BF game before.

There are so many issues and quirks for me coming from all their past games, I'm sure you can read all about them elsewhere like on reddit or in the other reviews. A brief summary for me, is they gutted a lot of features from past games and they just simply are not in this game. Features we liked, got used to, and expected to be in this one.

I hope they can bring back all the features we had in the old games and perhaps make better maps. The maps from past games are far more entertaining to me for all aspects of battle (Infantry, Vehicles, Air, and Naval). Silly there is so many pictures of boats, when there is none in the game T-T

Hard pass. Graphical and game play issues right now for sure, which are a bummer. My thing is though... nothing feels new or fresh. I feel like all the money spent on making this game was purely aesthetic. Game assets, textures, voice actors, animations, etc all look great. But if the game play is the same as many other older games in the market it doesn't do it for me. Gun play seems boring, melee was wonky, picking up items was clunky ( even locating them is harder than it needs to be in my opinion ). All in all if you feel like playing a new version of some old games go for it, but if you're expecting some new cutting edge mechanics or vast dialogue options etc I would look else were. Hopefully the start patching it to make it play better and not have AI walk through walls etc. I'll wait till a super sale to get it, at this point I wouldn't say its a full release price tag ready game.

I've just recently bought this on steam, I've owned it on CD since it's release. Honestly this is my favorite TES game. The stories were always entertaining, the environments were elaborate and vast, and the modding scene was always amazing. Now with the Morrowind graphics guide, I have been replaying the game all over again and it has been really enjoyable. If you don't mind installing some mods, some dated mechanics, or reading I definitely would check it out. Honestly, even just installing the Morrowind Code Patch and the Morrowind Graphics Extender by themselves breath modern life into the game with very minimal technical no how.

Early Access Review
This game is pretty fun. Hardcore is ridiculous but challenging.

But it has not worked on linux now for many months on my computer.

Posted in bug report section many times with no success.

So I can't really recommend it.

STAY AWAY. 1 / 10 stars

Banned again, this time he perma banned my IP.

==============================

Josh has banned me for voicing my concerns and opinions. I do not recommend this at all anymore.
He also lied to me before purchase about the equality between the Windows and Linux features leading me to review this negatively.

==============================

At this time, There are many other alternatives to this software, expecially if you are running windows, that provide superior toolsets, graphic capabilities, and functionality. (Source SDK, UDK, Unreal 4, Crysis, Unity, Etc)
Even for us Linux users, Unreal4Editor is now supported in Linux if you google how to install it and is far cheaper (20$).

As it is currently, if your interested in trying this out, download Source SDK, and pretend that a bunch of tools are not present, crash if used, and there is no wiki documentation.

This is currently very much in development at this time, some examples :

-Water planes were just released

-Foliage painting is not available

-Many tools you are used to, will not be present

-You must pay an extra 100 dollars to be allowed to code in C++

- The Linux release is not actually as up to date as the windows version.

Very Active community, they actually provide a lot of help and support for the product.

Some nice things about Leadwerks :

- Good / Active community

- Relatively easy to get assets from Blender into your games

- Community released content (shaders, templates, tutorials)

The lead developer is active, but one man can only do so much and can only focus on certain tasks.

The advertising portrays that this is the one stop shop for linux game development,
I have found inconsistancies in the Windows and Linux versions, where Windows seems to be more supported.

In order to use a vast majority of the tools that make this engine nice, you must opt into beta.
No where on the sales page did it say that this was a beta, or still in development stages.

In time this might be worth its price tag, but to me I just paid for someones development costs, not for a finished product that I could release games with as advertised.

Other reviews for this engine are exagerated as to its state of completion or simply have not tried alternatives. Josh will disable your account if you talk about anything that is not leadwerks related.
He does not support freeware or open source movements and has called their users "Pushy" and claims they attack reputable softwares... such as his. Most of the reviewers have said they recommend this software with only a few hours of use, which leads me to believe their reviews really aren't much but more misleading information.

I do not intend to pay for someone elses development costs or encourage anyone to for that matter.

I cannot stress to you enough to avoid this software.
