Having played Persona 3R & 5, this game feels like nothing new outside of some minor QOL improvements. The gameplay loop is the same old formula and there is nothing novel to hook the player. I will admit I have not played through that much of the game, but the plot feels predictable, basic, and safe. The art and visuals are cool, but otherwise the game is just "fine." Maybe if I never played Persona 3R & 5 (both 100 hour games) Metaphor would be more enjoyable since it plays like a reskin of those two.

The map design is great and I'm really enjoying the exploration aspect of this expansion. However, I am having some issues with the bosses. They easily have the some of longest attack chains in the franchise and give you almost no downtime, while also having gigantic pools of health. Sure, it might just be a skill issue, but there is a difference between being fair but difficult and straight up obnoxious. Another problem I have right now is with the camera, which should be zoomed out for some bosses. It feels more like a fight properly positioning the camera to see attacks rather than with the bosses.
Anyway, the expansion is cool and all, and I would recommend it if you really want more elden ring and are looking for a big challenge. It might be best to wait a bit until some of these issues get ironed out though.
