This game was much better than anticipated. Usually play stuff like L4D, Total War, Warhammer and Assassin's Creed... but this game right here. I think it'll stick with me like Bioshock Infinite. Totally awesome with hard choices. Currently considering if I am ready for a second playthrough ... Expect somewhere between 16 and 25 hours per playthrough (there is a thread on the forum). And if you like the first episode, don't expect to let go of the game before you are done.

Worth every second of it.
The best and the worst:
I really enjoyed the combat system. It felt awesome chopping and dodging, the danger of every sword blow a real threat. And the monster. Oh boy. The leshen/Leshy is by far my favourite of all the wicked creatures, but not matter if you are fighting the human sized drowners or the colossal fiends, the combat is fast paced and brutal. Everything can kill you - and it probably will - but keep going. I'd also recommend playing on a higher difficulty. It really makes the world feel dangerous when bandits, vampires and nekkers leap at you with a very real possibility of killing you.
Second, the world is beautiful and the best type of open world. Easy to get around, with lots of nooks and crannies where foul beast and surprising quests hide. Seriously: if you love the characters of the previous witcher games, do all the side quests. Some of them may bring back unexpected friends.
And then we arrive at the story. Gods. Geralt - the protagonist - is at his finest. Crude, sarcastic and an utter prick if you want him to be, he still truly cares about the other characters and his struggles get increasingly difficult as the world tries to screw him over at every turn. I won't spoil the story, but it is beautiful with overwhelming and epic moments. Especially this one moment at Kaer Mohen, where all your friends gather and... Gaah!. I thought to game was going to end, and turned out i wasn't even halfway through. Amazing simply.

Now the bad parts:
The graphic requirement are skyhigh. Come prepared or you'll be disappointed.
The occasional game breaking bug: one time when Geralt dismounted he started the swimming animation while being on land.. It was frustrating at the time, but makes for a good story, as I was trying to fight off three low level bandits while swimming in the forest.
The movement is occasionally clunky and Geralt and Roach will get stuck on the smallest of things. Unfortunate, but I've never tried to be completely stuck - so it was only a minor inconvenience.
There are ways to break the combat system utterly. One potion will heal you fully whenever you expend stamina on a sword attack, or heal a little when you cast signs. This of course makes the game a loooot easier, so use with care. Furthermore the Axii sign can be upgraded so it allows you to make your enemies into temporary allies with 100% exstra damage. And the won't strike at Geralt until the sign's effect stops, at which point you can just cast it again .. Avoid if you want to enjoy the combat, but it can occasionally be awesome for fighting groups of enemies way above your level.

And on a final note, there are many different endings depending on your actions. Your choices will impact how Geralt's life continues, how the war goes and how +++ Name Redacted +++ likes you, and what she chooses to do with her life.

This game. This game right here. This game is amazing on so many levels. The gameplay is fun and fast paced, the setting is scaringly accurate on some levels and the characters are wonderful. I recommend buying this - if that hadn't gone through already ^^

It might require a second playthrough or viewing of the final arc before you get the big picture, but it is so worth it. And no. It is not trying to be scary like the old bioshocks - but if you like the wicked cruelty of a society trapped in the pit of rasicm and fanatism - and the destruction of it: you're going to enjoy this game.
