Zelda: The Minish Cap meets Stardew Valley!

Sitting at home with COVID-19 I was pleased to see that this game which was sitting in my wishlist had appeared as 75% off. As a fan of RPG's, this game looked really intriguing from the start, rogue fighting elements alongside a economy based business side of the game instantly had me hooked.

The overall fighting, dungeon crawler element was fun throughout. The fighting elements despite doing what I expected them to do, at times were basic and lacked substance, however I didn't ever purchase the bow and arrow which I assume would add a little more depth. After watching the trailers before buying the game and now after playing it I cant say I was disappointed.

Where the game really interested me was the "Moonlighter" itself, the shop which the game is named after. It starts off a little basic with the ability to only sell 4 items at a time. However, as I restocked my shelves throughout the day with the various items and trinkets I had found in the dungeons off slaying monsters I had a lot of fun working out what sold well, which prices items needed to be and how many you could sell before the customers started getting bored and didnt visit the shop as often. This meant that the decisions you made within the shop required thought and planning, not to mention you could find different items that each of the NPC's would pay extra for at times.

I've never delved into the end game as I feel that I've managed to get through a good deal of the content through the main story, and I dont find that I'm much of an achievement hunter post-game. What I will say is that each of the dungeons themselves have hidden rooms and special features which you can encounter if you go hunting from them, some of these lead to my death and my fortune upon random encounters throughout the main story. The shop also allows villagers to make special requests on items they need that they will pay extra amounts of money for, similar to the quests in Stardew Valley, this was a fun little addition to the game that could keep players interested following the main story.

For the price of £3.87, this game is a steal, at £15.49 its still a worthwhile purchase, but I'd want a little more for that price tag. Fortunately, the developers appear to be consistent with updates so there will always be more to come.

Furi is one of those games that you purchase thinking; "Wow Dom, this is a great idea, how did you not see this game in the steam market earlier?!" and then you start playing it. Now dont get me wrong, i am absolutely diablocally sh*t at video games, I have 300 hours on pubg and I still rarely win a game and I've played League of Legends for over 6 years and I still take the abuse on a daily basis for being I quote "the most ca&@$r a*ds f%$@ing nooblord big Xd re#@%d scumf&#k I haf evr sheen in vidya gaym" because someone loses their lane. So you could say I'm a veteran gamer. But even after my many years of playing many triple A titles and coping with the multiple debilitating addictions I have I figured "yeah, i'll give this game a go". I'm still on the first boss after an hour of gameplay on my own account and about 10 on a friends, and I'm still playing, thats how ridiculously fun this absolutely inFURIating game is, guess I should have seen it coming.

Disclaimer: This is by no means a way of verifying or mitigating the eternal sorrow I experience due to being god awful at video games.
