Generally speaking: A lovely game. I loved the Harry Potter franchise as a kid, read all the books multiple times, so when this was announced and looked like an actual good game i was hyped as i never was.

And i gotta say: This is a lovely game that i 99%ed two times. But here is the issue: I personally am a completionist, i want to get every achievement. BOTH of my full play throughs were impossible to 100%. In my first playthrough, a infamous foe bugged out, died and didnt count towards the infamous foe challenge. Thing is: you need to complete all the challenges to get to LV 40, so to spend all Talent points for the achievements. Given that there is exactly the amount of infamous foes in the game that you need to complete the challenge, this was now impossible. After you completed the last "kill 100 of..." challenge, these enemies do not further drop XP. So you cant compensate for that.

Well happily enough i started a second playthrough. I completed everything, made sure i reloaded the game when something sketchy happened, now here i am with one side quest missing. I compared my completed quests to a list of all quests in the game. I have them all. Yet again i cant 100% the game after i speedran through everything else in about 30 hours. This is insanely frustrating. The XP system is cool per se, but either you have to implement a puffer, or you have to make sure that tracking all rewards works.

Also, this does not directly apply for me, but ARACHNOPHOBIA WARNING: Some of the spiders in the game are disgusting. I legit had nightmares of the Absconder quest, where a big ass hary acromantula just insta dashes from the other side of the arena DIRECTLY INTO YOUR FACE, without a warning (if you dont know what to expect yet). I dont have bad arachnophobia, but i already find the idea of the normal big spiders (that have many close up cutscenes) disgusting. Spiders are one, if not the most frequent enemy. Why is there no mode to turn them off for such a common phobia? As said i (almost) completed the game twice now and it was doable, but i still find them disgusting.

Lastly i wanna mention that the pensieve cut scenes and boss fights somehow always play at max sound. Which is loud if you usually play the game at 10%. Could be a soundcard issue on my side but idk.

CONCLUSION:
The things listed here are the only negative things i found in 100 hours of playing. And thats not too bad. Combat is beautifully created and very fun and engaging, all different side quests and collectibles remain fun and engaging and generally speaking this is a beautifully designed game. I had great fun playing it twice and i would 99% ;) recommend buying and playing it if you are remotely interested in the Harry Potter universe. Idk if i wanna try this a third time, but if you can play through the same game twice in a bit more than a month and still enjoy every bit of it, it already speaks to the quality of a single player story game. 9.9/10
