12 hours on steam, thousands of hours in game.

I'm pleasantly surprised with the steam integration. I can finaly play on linux and completely abandon windows. Game content in expansions are worth more than their price. This is where you can always find me.

This game won me over. I wouldn't have recommended it before the official release. Some aspects like minor UI awkwardness may still exist. For example, some menus have their sort button on the right-side of UI while others have the sort button on the left-side. You will accidentially "take all" when you want to sort at least 100 times playing this game. Despite little inconveniences, I went from hating the game to loving the game.

Self-hosting your own dedicated server is an ok experience. If you want your server to be listed on the online server list, it seems you absolutely have to rent a server through gportal. Direct connections to your internal/external ip address will still work with enough fiddling. Inviting a friend to your self-hosted server with the steam invite will work to pull them in without requiring you to explain how to direct connect.

There are few things in life that bring me more joy than this game. It's beautiful, intuitive, and keeps you discovering more and more. If something breaks or doesn't work, you often have to face yourself and ask why you didn't do something right, and then you fix it. When you inevitably look back at all the hard work you did to achieve the next milestone, and hate how it all looks and works, you can make it better, and progress to the next thing with the techniques and strategies you learned from getting to where you are. This is not a game where you have to keep restarting a new world to do something better. Ask questions and find answers on the fly, and enjoy the process.
