Every planet is a potential no win scenario.

The game is essentially the same as the past several years. It's NBA2K, you know what you're getting. The major change aside from rosters is how predatory 2K and Visual Concepts have become with incentivizing microtransactions. Do you want to play MyCareer? Good luck getting past the first four college games without spending up for VC, the opponent AI is turned up to the max difficulty while your team will brick shot after shot after shot.

There's nothing really new about this game aside from a fresh coat of paint, some new mechanics with upgrading your MyPlayer, and more frustrating gameplay to entice people to spend real money on stat points. I paid ten bucks for this game. I have no intention of spending money on VC, I have bills to pay. I wish I'd spend zero dollars.

It doesn't exactly reinvent the wheel when it comes to action-adventure shooters, but it's got a style all its own and the gameplay never gets stale. I love throwing objects at people (or at the destructible environments just because) and the oppressive, eerie environment always provides a pervasive feeling of unease. Prepare to have your head messed with. Don't get too comfortable.

It's no different from any of the other NBA2K games you've played. Very little has changed, you're going to be grinding in MyCareer, MyTeam, etc unless you're willing to shell out extra bucks for microtransactions, which is obviously the goal. If you've got 2K18 or 2K19, don't bother with 2K20 or 2K21. Just download the updated rosters and enjoy your life.
