i have tried the opening hour or so of this game several times, on every class, but i really dislike the combat and i can't get past it. it is holding the attacking button down to do slow boring basic attacks. or use the kind of jank tactical view to enable auto attacks. i can't stand the idea of playing 5 hours of this combat system let alone 50 or even 100. maybe the story is worth it and maybe the combat gets better later, but the combat leaves such a terrible first impression that i just want to play something else.

this is still the best God of War like game on steam.

A mediocre checklist open world gets elevated by the context of why you are clearing a bunch of map markers. I think finding scrap and gas for your car in a post apocalyptic wasteland is one of the better reasons to explore a checklist open world. i quite like Mad Max.

this game is cool. it is like if The Last of Us and the Mad Max video game had a baby.

this game is pretty cool so far. i wish i bought it on launch. this is the closest we have gotten to my dream open world game that is basically Assassin's Creed Black Flag but set in the Treasure Planet Universe. this is more of a space cowboy game, but this is the closest so far to that dream game. open world space pirate action adventure games is what this world need!

this is loving send up to my favorite era of Pokemon games, the GBA era, Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald plus FireRed/LeafGreen. I really dig the cross platform cloud saves, so i mobile and Steam version and just pick up playing depending on if i am at home or out. it has some cool quality of life features like being able to switch out moves to anything a coromon has learned, or the option to have your coromon regain HP on level up. there are some cool options for randomization and challenge runs too. this game wears its inspiration on its sleeve. i have never been big into the 3D era of Pokemon. i was 18 when gen 5 came out, and i lost interest for many years after playing Black and White. so my love for the games froze right before the 3D era. so a creature collector RPG inspired by the GBA and DS era of Pokemon is just what i want. the GBA era aesthetic is top tier.

this series has a knack for releasing right after a disappointing follow up to a beloved first person RPG. first one released the year after Fallout 76. the second one released the week after Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2. The Outer Worlds is there to give us pretty darn good first person RPGs to help us heal from massive disappointments. might be the luckiest RPG series ever.

i have been checking steam multiple times a year hoping that the forgotten Splinter Cell game is finally made available on digital distribution platforms to play easily again. i got tired looking at my Steam library and seeing a big Pandora Tomorrow shaped hole. i never thought i would see the day, but it is here. i now own Pandora Tomorrow on Steam.

please make Far Cry 2-2. none of the other games in the series hit like this one.
