My enjoyment of this game went from like a 8 or 9 at the start to like a 3 or 4 by the end. It starts off really fun and you're psyched to explore and you laugh at the silly physics and stuff that will happen to you and your ship. Then by the end you're like....alright enough of these BS physics, stop freaking autopiloting me into the damn sun which was clearly not lined up in between me and the planet I set autopilot to like wtf. Like there's a point at the end where you've explored almost everything and you know exactly what you need to do next but the thing you need to do is just gated by the mechanics of the game/loops and you literally can't get to the place you need to get to until 5+ minutes have passed and since that's the last thing you need to explore there's nothing to do but just...wait it out. One mechanic takes 7 minutes every loop to open up. And then you can mess it up after waiting and have to reset and wait the 7 minutes with nothing to do again. Then after its all said and done the game just kinda ends and it feels like all the exploring and attempts to save things amount to nothing. Some people liked it, I thought it was lame. Whateva.

Insanely disappointing. I love this type of game. I'm the kind guy who even loved Pillars of Eternity (both of em) and they aren't exactly widely regarded. This is just bad. I read a lot of reviews before buying telling me to stay away due to huge bugs. That part hasn't been that bad but there's definitely some annoying bugs. My problem is this game just does too much and by doing so does everything poorly. Too much text to read in conversations so I either have to spend HOURS just reading and not playing the game if I want to learn about the world (my first Pathfinder game) and this specific story. Too many mechanics in almost every aspect of everything. You're constantly getting hit with tutorial pop ups for new systems/mechanics even 20+ hours into the game. So alright I put up with all the complexity and start figuring it out and enjoying it in Act 1. I beat Act 1. And then the Crusade starts. For some reason they decided a CRPG wasn't enough and to make this 2 games in 1 where the CRPG part, the part you bought this game for, is locked behind this godawful Crusade mode. Can't make progress if your crusade is a fail and its way too easy for your crusade to fail and spiral out of control til it gets impossible to correct and thus you're effectively game locked out of progressing. I literally just stopped paying attention to my crusade for 1 dungeon, that I didn't even fully finish, and when I come back to my crusade I find that its gone from positive morale to -32 morale, I've lost almost half my numbers from people deserting (I think because it doesn't say why my army numbers are lower they just are). I'm also at a point where I can't really do much more with my CRPG party and my crusade army after the morale BS is too ♥♥♥♥♥♥ to clear out the map for my CRPG party to progress. W T F is this man. If you're wondering crusade mode is like Heroes of Might and Magic. So dumb to lock the CRPG behind this crap. Apparently I can put it on automatic mode so the computer does it for me and I don't lose morale while I am actually playing the CRPG game but that locks you out of loot and even progressing your mythic path if you choose Lich. I guess I am going to try to put the Crusade on automatic mode if its not too late...and if it is too late I am done with this game. Might consider forcing my credit card company to refund me since its too late on Steam...pretty messed up to make us play 15+ hours of the game before finding the game-breaking second game they forced into it. Awful stuff. Game companies STOP DOING THIS.

Early Access Review
There is pathetically little content in this game for $20. To the point where there still wouldn't be enough content in this game if it was free. Somehow they managed to get $20 out of me for a game that has...2 or 3 maps, 4 heroes, and a terrible item/progression system.

The maps are bland AF. The look and feel of the start of the map is the same as the middle of the map and the end of the map. It would be like if in Diablo or POE you were just replaying TWO AREAS of an entire Act over and over again. Not the whole act....two of the small areas that you take waypoints to. That's pathetically small.

The devs have also done us the favor of showing their development plans from now through the end of the year. In that time...one more map, two new contract types. That's just not enough. So now we know its not just super barebones because its early access but that they never really will fully flesh this game out. It needs well over 10 maps and TONS of different contracts to be viable. Not to mention the god-awful item lootbox system. I have zero hope for that to get better.

All in all I wish I realized within the first 2 hours that I'd already seen everything (not a joke I saw 90% of the game in 2 hours) so I could still get a refund. If this was a free game I'd be happy to play it every now and then and come back to it a couple times a year to follow the changes being made. BUT they had the nerve to charge $20 for a game that has some of the least amount of content and replayability I've ever seen.

Do yourselves a favor and check out Risk of Rain 2 over this crap. I haven't played ROR2 but from what I've seen its the exact same concept (map-based co-op ARPG basically Left 4 Dead with Diablo/POE type maps and gameplay) with more maps and hopefully a not-busted item/progression system. I'll be checking that out next in this genre (after I play Divinity 2)

Other than WoW and CS this is probably one of the best games I've ever played. LOVED IT! Community was small and tight. I used to play with freaking Semmler the CS caster on here! He loved this game. Maybe someday we can start a movement to get everyone to log in again for a day (or more...). Too bad Battlerite feels off
