It's more dragon age but more. I adore it and cannot recommend it enough.

This is the kind of game the Souls-Like genre really needed, honestly. Colourful, humourous, and fun. It is an adorable romp and I cannot recommend it enough. Plus, the devs seem to have a great sense of humour!

Edit, 27 and some change hours in and I completed the game. It only got more surprising and touched on random oceanic creatures, events, and aspects that I would never have anticipated. I need to stress how much a breath of fresh air this game is in the "Soulslike" genre. I absolutely adore it <3

We do very much like a disabled protag who uses prosthetics without anyone making a huge deal of it. Very inventive functions for the arm and surprisingly varied weaponry throughout as well.

The game is fine, but honestly I can't get over the load times. It's frankly embarrassing that a game with the budget and longevity this one has still has such abysmal load times. It's so flow breaking for me that I cannot bring myself to continue playing. ESPECIALLY with GTA Online, wherein at rank 1 I was thrown into a world with many angry rank 150+ people on drones who just kept blowing me up before I could even figure out what was going on. Then the game had the audacity to chastise me about being a Bad Sport when I got kicked by them from their instance? Literally all I was trying to do was get away. Not an enjoyable time. At all.

Early Access Review
I downloaded this game on Labor Day weekend, which coincidentally lined up just after the August update and patch 0.2.1, which alleged to have some fixes. Cool. Got into playing it with my girlfriend, managed to get us used to the game and established with a chunk of the story done and a base built up, only to have the whole thing fall apart with a gamebreaking bug causing save files to crash the game when you try to load them.

We were told by the community at the time to just try making a new world, might have just been our save getting broken by the update. No big deal. Fine, it's early access. So we did it all again. Got farther, even got a lucky kill against a Wolf Spider we found fighting a bunch of stink bugs! Crazy cool for us! Then, after playing for most of a day, I had a power flicker and had to reload the game session. And again, the bug occurred, all saves and autosaves completely corrupt. Game crashes on load.

Community has been trying to sort fixes, but we're ultimately waiting on the devs.

It's early access. These things happen.

That said, the game is amazing. The world feels huge and wonderful and expansive, the bugs have personality and fascinate us, the spiders are horrifying and really make the atmosphere, and oh so much more to come.

I strongly recommend it to anyone and everyone, but maybe wait a little while into the development cycle to allow glitches like these to be worked out first.

This game allows you to fulfill your fantasies of being a carnivorous spaghetti casually noodling your way through a militaristic/scientific facility in a metroid-vania style world, making all sorts of friends with screaming humans and exploding machines alike!

The movement system was strangely charming and hypnotic, just enjoyable to view as your tendrils jump automatically around to help propel you throughout. The controls, I admit, got very tricky and buggy especially as you increase in size, but still all in all a very fun little game!

Wholeheartedly recommend. Get in there and make friends with some scientists!

I recommend this game, but understand going into it, that this game is not finished.

Very literally, after going down a number of floors the game just stops, throwing you into a jarring black void with a text scroll and voice over telling you the remainder of the story. On the game's official discord, the dev noted it was meant to have several more floors and two more bosses, but the game didn't get enough following or interest so they just.... didn't.

The gameplay that IS there is enjoyable, definitely. Took me 21 hours to complete, and I could still yet go back and try the hardcore mode. The fighting, while finicky, is enjoyable, the gear smithing is unique and a nice touch (although material drop rate is a bit annoying), and the bosses are all unique and many quite difficult. There's very little information in the form of guides or wikis or anything out right now about the game which forces the player to actually solve the puzzles and figure things out themselves. Which can be frustrating when, say, the game bugs out and generates a floor without a boss on it (happened several times in my playing), or when a boss clips through a wall never to be seen again and you have to leave and run that floor again.

It's fun, essentially. Unfinished, but fun. I'd say worth the money.
