I cried in 2007 and I cried again in 2022

While at first excited because I got Tales of Arise vibes from the combat and characters - this quickly became extremely repetitive with a very C-tier story comparable to some of the first Final Fantasy games where good person is good and bad person is bad and wants to reign chaos for the sake of it. None of the characters introduced are fleshed out and I felt absolutely nothing by the time the credits rolled. 100%ing this game unfortunately requires a lot of weapon grinding, doing hard mode and playing through again a very forgettable story, and wondering if the people that wrote this game intended for Odin being bad as a plot twist. 5/10 would recommend if it's on sale for $20 and you're bored

do you remember the first time you fell in love? long nights of laughing and talking about nothing and everything at once until the sun came up? thanking whatever spirit that watches over us that in this lifetime, somehow, you met the person who suddenly makes every romance movie and song make sense...

that is the opposite of SCP-173

honestly - this game had potential if
A. It were in first person
B. They made meeting xenomorph's have a bigger impact - not going against at least 20 at all times highlighted in "shoot me please" green
C. It had a better story

if you go into this thinking it's a doki doki rip off, imagine doki doki as a delicious steak, grilled to perfection, with a side of mashed potatoes and butter, tastes absolutely amazing
think of this game as the instagram photo of the meal shot with a subpar camera

i understand that maybe the creator wasn't necessarily going for a doki doki style visual novel but with how closely the art work and characters resemble one another, as well as the plain references to the game, i was at least expecting somewhat of the same experience. hence the critical review
