Hat in Time takes the formula from games I loved as a kid but streamlines and modernizes it. Sometimes you go back to an old classic and you realise it has flaws. This, though, is basically the game I thought I was playing back then, before I became a cynical old man. Each level is unique and feels completely different from the last, with almost no filler. The collectibles all do something useful and give you incentive to explore. The controls are tight and intuitive, and the game has so much charm and is just so cute. Definitely recommend it.
