Such a disappointment. The first game was wonderful. Beautiful, melancholy and a real sense that everything you were doing was making progress. Some time limits, easily managed by good planning and forward thinking and taking some risks.

This game? Oh man. I had to restart my playthrough an hour in because all my dice broke and became unusable, no way to fix them, actual soft lock through mechanics.
Second playthrough wasn't any better, your useless crew can't roll above a 3 and if they do they feel drawn to that 25% negative outcome.

The system of failure punishing you in multiple ways heavily discourages taking risks, as a single failure can cascade into stacking punishments which make it easier to fail in future.

I might give it another shot in the future but for now its left a very sour taste in my mouth, completely different feeling the original game.

I said that Undertale was a once in a lifetime experience, and then Tricky Toby went and did it again but even harder. Humour, gameplay, dialogue, worldbuilding and most of all, consistently banging soundtrack. 10/10. Chapter 1 is a little rough around the edges but the game very quickly finds its feet.

The devs add content every few weeks, and listen to the community. Also, no microtransactions!

Expands on what made the first game in the reboot series great, with the old levels all being playable in the new engine with updated mechanics and graphics is a great step in the right direction for games.
