Not for me, and I imagine not for everyone either. I like a good PvPvE game, but when basic functions are locked behind progression (as in space bar does nothing until it TELLS you space bar = jump) and some of those functions are locked behind quests post-tutorial, this means you have to unlock basic abilities in a PvP environment. Annnnd of course there's high-level opposing faction players camping the quest locations so you can't even get a start. Pass. Not for me. The fact that I can NEVER upgrade my gear even without finishing those quests... and high-level players with tiered gear are griefing all the new players... it's not my cup o' tea.

LOL "if you received this product for free" - Shouldn't it auto-check that on free games?

I bought this on sale, and found it to be a very interesting game. It's like you're interactively part of the storyline, although it's strictly a story-driven game, with no combat, just puzzles, and I found it very unique looking and feeling, with a perfect soundtrack that really sets the mood. Definitely a nice relaxing experience I'd recommend. Just watch out for the whales, LOL.

Rust can be one of the most toxic, frustrating games ever, OR it can be tons of fun - it all depends on the server having good active admin that doesn't allow cheaters, but overall? Give it a shot, and if a server seems horrible, don't blame the whole game on that - there are hundreds of others to choose from, and they aren't all bad like that! (Don't get me wrong, a little bit of toxicity is fine in PvP, but... you'll know what I mean when you run into them.) Oh, and don't winge about soloing being impossible. It's not. Just learn to play differently.

Nope. At this point, I really can't recommend it. They haven't changed for the better in how they treat their players in-game or out of game regarding this, and even though I had some hope when MS bought them out... this is just too unstable/buggy/broken to recommend.
This is coming from someone who's spouse joked about them having a "Fallout Shrine" full of collectibles, with signatures from many of the larger VA names and even a few smaller ones, and someone who will, regardless of this, STILL tell the story of how awesome it was talking to Peter Jessop about voice acting, and how, at that time, he stated that Paladin Danse in Fallout 4 was one of his favorite parts ever performed, as the character was just so well written that you FELT for him when you played the game. Danse became "real" to us as players.
To me, this just goes to show how far they've fallen. From amazing stories and incredible acting to buggy, disjointed main-line quests that can't be completed, dailies that fail regularly, and just bug after bug after bug. Game-breaking level ones, oftentimes, costing you HUGE amounts of the time and effort you've put into the game. Just... not worth it to me. I stuck around a while for the community, as some of them are absolutely amazing, but... well, I still keep an eye on them to see when they leave to play something else and I'll rejoin them.
Fallout 76 crashes to desktop a LOT, is full of game-breaking bugs that keep reappearing/getting worse, Customer Service is downright rude to you on the phone, completely ignores you and sends an automated response and nothing else to online tickets... and even when you DO get ahold of them on the phone, and sit through their bad day... you still end up with nothing changed (even if it cost you actual money due to a transaction error they admit), and you're still in the same place you were before calling. Not worth it. I wish it had be. I really, REALLY wanted this to be better. Or get better, because hey, Fallout has always been buggy at launch. Just... not usually WORSE years later.

Edit: Since it's been a while, an update: Everything has actually been changing a good bit with the new areas/DLC, but... the story is so weak that I don't think even 10% of people remember it or even finished it. The ONLY thing I see anyone doing related to the entire new expansion is the nuke boss fight... nothing else. There were barely any unique extras, and it gets really bad hearing 5 or 6 NPCs say the SAME LINE in a row in the new areas. It feels like they're trying to cash in on the TV series (which, btw, I enjoy), but not remembering what got them there in the first place. Stories. All of us old Fallout fans are here for the story.

They have even made it nearly impossible without insane time dedication and consistency (don't miss a day!) to get the season pass unlocked, EVEN WITH The boost you get from Fallout 1st. There's a good chance I won't get all of the items before it ends, though I have been trying to. Their solution: Spend more money. Every season before this has had "atoms" (cash shop currency) scattered throughout it, but this season... more like they want you to spend them all just to unlock the normal stuff. You don't even GET to the "extras" page where those are until rank 150 - out of 100. It's really something I'd suggest trying out on a free weekend, rather than buying, because it may not be for you. :-/

One of my absolute favorite RPGs, which I consider definitely among the top 5 over the past few years as far as engrossing gameplay, very well written storyline, great voice acting to the point that for example if I'm now playing SWTOR and hear Steve Blum's voice, my mind automatically assigns Oghren as the face it's attached to, regardless of what I'm seeing on screen. That voice has BECOME Oghren to me. This takes a lot of amazing skill both in writing and acting, as it requires a lot of emotional investment to "become" someone. You have to "believe" in the character you're seeing. (At least for me this is true.) Definitely worth the $, even now that it's a slightly older game (I also have it on PS3 but still worth the purchase)
