Honestly, the things I wanted from the L4D games is here. Actual quantifiable difference between the characters mechanically, personal customization, and, I'll be real, the guns feel so good. They all feel different, but have their benefits and drawbacks.

There's problems in the game. No male characters who are support style builds, while two female characters are support, for one. The lack of campaign versus mode. I think the veteran difficulty spike is a bit much, and nightmare is still in 'people are using specific exploits to beat it' so hopefully they get that rebalanced - well, rebalance nightmare, and add another difficulty between recruit and vet maybe.

But honestly, I'm still playing, and looking forward to playing more. I hope the game continues to grow.

SHoJS is such a misleading title. While jumpscares do exist, most of the game is anticipation of something that rarely happens - and when it does, fleeing in terror. It's got cutesy art and mostly very bright, endearing graphics, looking akin to old school FP games. It uses its atmosphere perfectly, and sets you up for terrifying moments. It doesn't really rely on jump scares. I highly recommend it as a fan of the horror genre.
