I have mixed feelings with this game. The idea is great, but there is nothing exciting there besides the Pokemon-like twist. Gameplay is dull, on level ups you have to max damage on your main skill, otherwise you will get easily swarmed by enemies. It seems there is no space for creativity or crazy combos like in other similar games.

You max damage up just to be able to kill next wave of enemies, and sometimes if there is no other choice, you should pick one or two points in hp regen and movement speed, that's all. Enemies get bulkier with each wave and simply walk towards you, bosses may have more interesting attack patterns but they are still meh. Shards type doesn't seem to matter here, it is only a visual effect for your powers (NPCs will only walk). Summon-able creatures are just additional skills, you can improve them on some level ups, but not in a specific way to create builds, only an overall improvement.

Maybe I have misjudged it and it is a game for kids (nothing wrong with that), but why is it so difficult then? Enemies have a lot of hp and the dash has a long cooldown. You can't run aimlessly on a normal difficulty. I'm sure the better combos and more effective/fun skills can be found later, but I'm not willing to wait 5h to find something that I can get at the beginning in other games.

If you are looking for a game for your kid - this one is cheap and may be fun for some time but I think there are better choices.
If you are an adult player and came here only because you are a Vampire Survivors and/or Pokemon fan - there are for sure better choices.

it was more fun in betas, they somehow made it worse; don't get it for full price

I thought it may be fun, it was for 2-4 hours, later it became repetitive and I just rushed through levels. Until I died and found out that you have to basically start from the 1st level to level up weapons and find gear. It wouldn't be a problem (I knew it was a premise of the game) if it wasn't so damn boring...

- Enemies are almost the same (some are boring and you can outrun them, some are annoying and just jump on you)
- Levels are not interesting to explore, you have to go through the same looking areas several times. The Maze is the only exception, but it's the worst level in the game.
- Looting should be the best part but it's meh, it brings no thrill. You mostly find food or body parts for cooking.
- Cooking... it is there, but I'm not sure why. I guess it's good for clearing slots in the inventory. You can find or buy food instead of cooking it.
- Weapons and upgrades are ok, but that's all. Most upgrades bring downgrades that just feel not worth to use them. You can combine magic to get something better and finally have more fun, but good luck when you die and have to go back to crappy level 0 weapons.

I will come back to this game after X updates, hopefully it will be a lot better.
