I got this on deep discount for $2, and I still wouldn't recommend it. Comes with Denuvo Hardware Destroyer malware built in and I got a soft-lock on 'recruit a henchman' mission.

I appreciate that Denuvo has been removed from this game. And I like it when a company tries to move the strategy genre forward.

However, the AI is dumb. It suicides unit after unit without any result during battles and is mostly idle on the battle map. The latter issue can be mitigated by turning the difficulty way up, but be sure to customize it because the standard settings will give enemy units additional hitpoints, which is a cheap and annoying solution to weak AI in my opinion.

You will also need to set some rules for yourself in order to not optimize the fun out of the game. Once you discover how to exploit the santa claus medals that magically generate extra money (men) and materials out of thin air you will be unable to unsee it.

Overall it can be a fun experience if you can stop yourself from exploiting the systems too much. Too bad the developer didn't fix its problems and abandoned the game.

All economies are planned economies, which is not realistic. The war system can be bad at times. Some parts of history have been whitewashed (i.e. Slavery in the Ottoman Empire, Socialism without the extreme corruption).

This is disappointing to many people who wanted something else, but I'm having fun with this game.

It has a lot of mechanics, but no real reason to engage with most of them.

Your people don't need food and don't understand how to use most items. There are many ways of dealing with enemies, but most of them are not very useful. This means you quickly end up with a large stockpile of stuff that would be useful if all mechanics were implemented fully.

Definitely worth your money. Play the demo if you don't believe it.

This game made Paradox grand strategy games obsolete to me. It has great depth and no other game I've ever played does asynchronous multiplayer nearly as well.
