I read the mixed reviews with some trepidation, but I am really glad I bought this game. If you liked things like NWN then you will probably like this. I don't really care if they stick slavishly to the D&D rule set and I've been playing D&D since the mid 80s. It doesn't need to be *exactly* the way it is in the books. Even a DM will tailor the rule set with decisions towards making a good game instead of being pedantic about a minor issue with the rules.

I'm about half way through the first campaign and have thouroughly enjoyed it so far. I like the voice acting and to me the whole adventure seems pretty fleshed out. There's laughs too and I like the characters and the way they are portrayed. There's a lot of things to do - I like the puzzle solving and riddles and the battle is great fun whilst at times challenging, but in a good way.

It's nice to play a game like this that does not make you feel you need some top level uber character after five minutes play. The graphics are just right for me; detailed and colourful with nice attention to detail. They are perfectly fine and much better than they were back in the day with NWN, as would be expected. If you want a semi-photorealistic character with big breasts and skimpy outfit then go play some MMO with little more than nice graphics and endless grind ! :D

Some parts of the UI could be a bit better but it does the job on the whole.

It's a pleasure to come back to this kind of game and I hope it will keep on going. They have already released a free new campaign which on the strength of what I have seen so far I would have been happy paying for.

I'm looking forward to trying some of the modules other players have made and will hopefully get some friends along to play with. I like a game that allows players to make their own stuff, I hope that part can be expanded some more as time goes on - for now there is plenty to keep me busy.

So if you like a bit of battle, puzzles, some good story telling and laughs I'd say give it a go - especially if you can take some good friends along for the ride :)
