Story

The story itself is very good, but definitely not a masterpiece and it could be much more concise in the game, meaning it wasn't really necessary to repeat 4 times, the same act 2, just to get to the ending E / Act 3, which s way too repetitive and I think it loses the charm.

Right now the game has 5 endings, where 4 is allocated for Act 2, like this:

Act 1 & Act 2 - Ending A
Act 2 again /w additional scenes - Ending B
Act 2 again /w additional scenes - Ending C
Act 2 again /w additional scenes - Ending D
Act 3 - Ending E

It's clear, we have to repeat 4 times, just to get to the ending E / Act 3, do you see what do I mean?

Could be more interesting however if the endings were related specifically to an Act for example

Act 1 - Ending A (teen / kid Nier)
Act 2 - Ending B and C (adult Nier)
Act 3 - Ending D (Kaine)

As such the story could be more comprehensive, and it's not necessary to repeat the same Act multiple times.

Graphics & Gameplay

The graphics are nice, not the best though and clearly compared to other games, could be definitely better, still it's enjoyable, and the same applies to the gameplay as well (except I dislike the way the camera goes, it s unusual slow if i want to rotate the camera).

Music

The music is outright the best, it definitely pumps me up when I fight a boss for example.

In the end, I recommend to play the game, but you need to have patience and you may need to allocate some hours on it.

In short, this game by its concept, it goes far beyond the name of NFS, like seriously it's like a war out there, very intense.
I suggest to not play online if you are a beginner, as the other players will come to hunt you down, not matter if they are racers or cops.

Please take what it's below as a spoiler:

The story portraits the rivalry of the Cop and Racer, and it's 2 representatives F-8 and Zephyr, both very dangerous with specific and different ideologies:

1) F-8 believes in fear, which it commands respect, and force commands order.
2) Zephyr believes in freedom, the sensation of going in extreme speeds, believes in defying fear and order.

Now, later to the story, RCPD started to impose order and fear within in the civilians (the same ideology as F-8) and they started protesting against them, the situation started to escalate.

Zephyr believes that people wants to defy order, just to obtain freedom, so it s clear now where it goes.

Now there s an officer named John McManus, that severely injures himself trying to stop some racers. This the point where everything boils up, as F-8 become completely pissed about this, which obviously they started a war, literally (there's not order anymore, or simple catching the driver, nope, they went after their heads).

Zephyr now believes that the officer was an example the RCPD couldn't catch up the racers, and thinks RCPD wants revenge for something they never committed.

After that, the US Department of Justice started to intervene, as the situation was out of the control (the officer was greatly hurt, the ideology within RCPD, the culture of intimidation etc.). Everybody within RCPD, was sidelined / suspended until the
conclusion of the issues were made.

Because there wasn't any agency in the streets, the Federal Bureau of Investigation has called it's special team, named VRT (Vehicle Response Team), a very aggressive team composed of ex-military personnel, very dangerous guys under the investigation.

F-8 being sidelined, with his fellow corrupt cops, started to take a different approach, eliminate the racers from inside, with the impounded cars.

Because he drove so aggressively and was against racers, he become very popular, even Zephyr started to notice him, at first he thought they had the same ideologies of being free, but after that he understood their intentions, of braking the racers. He took the Koenigsegg Agera R, and ex-cop car, and started to make a havoc within the streets.

The VRT, started to recruit F-8 and its cops, first by giving a test (which they passed), being very skilled, and now imagine a maniac guy with very fast cars (Hennessey Venom GT, Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, Koegnisegg Agera & One) and the latest technologies available at his disposal to stop any racer.

Now everything is a chaos, and civilians are pissed being caught up in crossfire, it s like having any civilian / cop killed because of that.

The VRT, found the one of Zephyr's associate, and was able to tracked him down.

Zephyr being lost, he started to make an open race with cops and racers, which later it comes to his demise, or at least that's what it seems.

Now F-8 was kicked out from the VRT, being very aggressive and also to cleanup his mess, which later, with that impound Ferrari Enzo, he took Zephyr's place.

The story finishes with the F-8's monologue being almost the same with Zephyr's from the start of this game.

Pretty good story with poor implementation, you have to play it some hours to grasp the idea of the story.

Not recommended to buy at full price.
