You can be a robot ninja with a Katana

Frostpunk is one of my favorite city builders for many reasons but the first and foremost is that it does such a good job of creating an atmosphere of despair and desperation. If you don't leave feeling better about your own life after playing this game than you either live in true anguish or have no empathy.

Lets get into some of the details.

Most city builders are way too easy, Frostpunk is one of the few that has a good difficulty balance that gives pressure for you for you to improve without keeping you constantly stressed. I got game overed once on the main campaign and after was able to do much better with what I learned but was still challenged at times.

The graphics and art style are beautiful. Buildings will change over when multiple are built next to eachother. The citizens create paths in the snow. You can zoom in and appreciate the details of the models.

Mechanics wise it's very well built, adding more overtime as you play so you're not too overwhelmed. And if you weren't sold at this point then you should know that you can, and should, enact child labor.

This is fun and simple card based RPG. It has interesting strategy to it as your character builds and equipment are what build your deck. I've always had trouble finding RPGs that aren't over the top with story (this does have some fun short side quest story lines though) and have involved strategy gameplay. With that said it has some odd bugs at time (which can always be fixed by restarting the game) and is a little slow to start.

This game really lets you live a fantasy from a time long past.
Such as:
-Going to a bar
-Getting a haircut
-Being in groups of more than 10 friends
-Having more than $100 spending money

Everything you want out of a good sequel and the rate at which the devs are patching bugs and balance issues gives me high hopes some of the jankyness will be ironed out.

The Sims + FarmVille + a crusty classic/hardcore RPG outer shell = Kenshi

People give this game a lot of ♥♥♥♥ for it's updates and from people who are ♥♥♥♥ at the game but honestly I think in General the updates are good and the game is still really fun to play. Don't get me wrong there are a lot of improvements I'd still like to see but all around still a good game to sink a bunch of hours into.

I had to force myself to finish the story and stop playing

My only complaint is that I don't have more friends to play this with.

It's free but I still pay for it, need I say more?
