If you enjoyed the first Hades, you'll enjoy this one. It's the same roguelike hack 'n slash with mountains of dialogue from an entertaining array of characters all based on Greek mythology. There are new weapons, enemies, bosses, as well as item gathering for incantations. You even revisit areas from the first game too if you progress far enough.

This game looks fantastic, superb looking ships, enemies, and backgrounds. Gameplay is incredibly frantic, the contrary to what you might expect, the player isn't the one who goes "All Guns Blazing" it's the enemies against you.

Early Access Review
Fun and fast-paced throwback to the early Star Fox and Space Harrier games, with a lively and bouncy soundtrack that have a 90s shmup arcade vibe and Super FX style polygonal graphics. Looking forward to future updates!

Brilliant looking game, the isometric view zooms in at and focuses on the right areas at each location, and the design of the player and enemies look adorable. It's definitely an easy game to get lost in, even when you finally get enough manual pieces to view a map it's hard to find where you are and where you need to go. Exploration and patience is definitely required.

As a fan of Final Space, this was satisfying to finally play this game, just hearing the characters in a game that in 3D kept the same look and feel of the show was worth the wait.

Wouldn't say it's without problems though. It would have been nice to reconfigure the controllers, attack enemies in melee, and for the grenade launcher to make an actual dent in the Guardian enemy.

Also I played on solo, and despite managing to get through all three chapters I don't think the game balances for solo players. Even a friend of mine tried co-op with one person and they found Normal difficulty a struggle.

Definitely a VR game for the die-hard fans of the show, just not as solid for VR gamers who like shooters.

The art direction is phenomenal, and the way the story progresses through each failed escape is carried out is different and a better motivation to replay than most other rougelikes I've played. The weapons and enemies are diverse and challenging, and the music changes depending on the level of activity in the level. Similar to Bastion, the narration and other voice overs was perfect.

Been following this game's development through #IndieDevHour for as long as I've been making indie games myself. The premise alone makes this my perfect kind of arcade style shooter with a retro aesthetic and fast-paced quick reaction gameplay, but the extra details like the random colour palettes on each level and the clever references to other arcade shooters like Space Invaders really adds to the challenge.

One thing I have learned while playing is that while the most limited, joust is really advantageous. Save them up for the bosses of each level.

Only minor issues I have is that controlling the jetboard is really awkward in diagonals because horizontal and vertical acceleration are vastly different, not to mention the level bosses have really awkward hitboxes in the first and second stages.

You don't need psychedelic drugs when this game exists, it's such a pure trip. Really fun multi-directional shmup, with great techno backing music and so many stag, bull, goat and sheep puns to last on for days. After playing through all fifty levels, the levels did start to feel repetitive but remained progressively harder so it was accomplishing in the end.

Somehow even more beautiful than Ori and the Blind Forest! The mechanics and abilities have been improved and are easy to switch between. Platforming has just the right amount of leniency to make sections possible with leeway to not also be impossible. The only weak aspect I felt was the story. A world that's decaying because a magic tree has lost its light, and an evil bird with a sad backstory is the main villain. Where have I heard that before? However the ending is a lot more satisfying and the boss battles leading up to it were incredible.

The dithering artstyle looks fantastic, and both the music and voice acting is really well done! The most challenging part is that you can only solve fates in sets of threes, so if you have plenty of guesses and potentially two are completely correct, the rest of the fates are incorrect and that might only be from one in three details each. Can get irritating and some I managed to get purely by guessing the names as very few scenes actually refer to people by their name or profession.
