This game used to be everything to me. The spirit of tournament play, the desire to achieve a higher rank. A decent drop that rewarded you for playing. A great community. All of this made you get together with the guys on Skype (now Discord) every day after school/class/work and log into this game. And how many hilarious CS videos there were. How fun and interesting it all was. Yes... All of that was. Now everything is completely different.

Matchmaking has become an utter abyss. 60% of the time, you're up against either boosters or cheaters. I currently have two Kalashnikovs; I used to have a Lem, and the chaos that happens at these ranks (two Kalashnikovs and Lem) is simply indescribable. Most often, you're up against guys who either play prefs, or you're up against someone with only one Steam game and 40 hours of play. CS:GO isn't an esport anymore, it's a cesspool. Matchmaking used to be fun, but now you're breaking your devices. All the decent players have migrated to tournament platforms like FACEIT, but I didn't buy the game to play it through a third-party resource.
There aren't any proper updates. Valve is aware of the huge number of cheaters, that the matchmaking system isn't working, and how many people are asking for 128-ticket servers. But no. With every update, they bring in cases with skins. Once a year they release an updated map, so go ahead and eat it up.
But despite all this, I still love this game and I'm unlikely to ever fall out of love with it.
