Time really flies huh? From having this game through a disc and now having it digitally 20 years later. Safe to say that most people here already has hundreds of hours in this game already

If you're new to the cnc franchise or wanted to get in the red alert series, definitely start with this first. It has the right amount of absurdity and difficulty(campaign only), it doesn't overwhelm you too quickly even if you're not familiar with ra2 (the expansion (Yuri's Revenge) however, is a different story) Sometimes the mission will leave you with the "wtf should i be doing rn" tho but that's because it already taught what everything does

After getting full achievement for this game, all i can say is the hardest part of this game isn't the bosses. The hardest thing in this game is the red insta death thing on the map, probably because those are 1 hit kill rather than the bosses atleast 3 hits on the hardest difficulty

alright for actual reviewing, the bosses themselves isn't unfair. Most of the attack patterns can be easily dodged and sometimes the bosses will throw in an attack that you can't dodge except if you dash.

the story is great especially at the end. Didn't expect the end to be like that, scared me for a moment ngl

Ohh and the music is great. Buy it. NOW

You can play as Cocoa, which is nice and makes the game feel "new" again since her moveset is very different from Erina

If the final boss on the hardest difficulty is your training dummy, then you should get this dlc because it also adds special bosses that is very hard-hitting and very tanky and the attack patterns require specific movement on the specific spot to dodge. It's very fun if you're up for the challenge

If somehow you still think this is easy, you might want a doctor to check your brain

This is so much more than just an artbook. Sure, there's the portrait viewer like everyone said already. But you can test out unused playable characters, difficulties, chapters, bosses and different intro for the game


To this day i still don't understand why this dlc is called as just an "artbook" because it feels more than just that

Played every chapter in every mode and difficulty (100% and 0% items too), this is still one of my favorite games and this is coming from a person who never actually played a bullet hell game before playing this

I know a lot of people will pass this game just because of the anime style but please give it a try if you're a bullet hell/metroidvania fan or just wanted to find a new game to play. Just close your eyes or just straight up cover your PC/laptop when the CG comes on screen


Now for some actual reviewing:

-Imma just say that if you're not familiar with bullet hell games, you're going to have a hard time beating some of the late game bosses (i would know since this is my first actual bullet hell game too) but don't worry too much because your hitbox is small and you have rechargeable i-frames if there's a pattern you can't dodge

-The bosses has a lot of attack pattern, the normal bosses has random attack pattern and 2 phases (100% hp and 50% hp) while most late game bosses has fixed attack pattern and multiple phases. Some of the bosses will change attack pattern when they're on a certain hp threshold

-The map is big and exploring it is very fun. Especially when you get a hold of the movement mechanics in the game. You move so fast while the enemies is having a hard time catching up to you

-The game has some hidden mechanic that can help you in the early game and 0% item run

-If you attempt a 0% item run, a hidden mode will active and will active a mechanic that is disabled during a normal run, so it's not as hard as it sounds

-I didn't expect this game to have a great soundtrack and made me buy a game ost for the first time

-You kinda have to grind if you wanna buy all the items, but i noticed that every time you advance to a new chapter, the amount of EN you get from enemies is increased but damage you received from enemies is also increased. So use this knowledge wisely

-This game can help you in most of the things you do, even breaking the game sequence. There's even an achievement for breaking the sequence

So in my opinion, you should go buy this game right now before i force myself to learn how to hack and hack your account and use your money to buy this game
