The new art style doesn't click for me. It feels quite cluttered, it's hard to distinguish important information in this game. Also, the dungeons are now zoomed in pretty hard, and I just find that unnecessary.

I don't know. I don't think the original game needed this remake.

The game dumps the entirety of its gameplay mechanics onto you immediately. It felt very overloaded to me, and I lost all interest immediately. I would recommend to the game designers to introduce one mechanic after the other ...

The art also feels super budgety, didn't really click with me.

I have spent 143 hours on this game.

Usually, I get bored very quickly with core gameplay loops and barely finish a game.

With Elden Ring, every single second out of these 143 hours felt amazing. I regret nothing, and I am a dad gamer with about 1 hour / day of play time.

This game is fine, but it doesn't really evolve on the formula (at least not in the first 3 hours that I played). It feels very samey pretty quick.

If you like Sokobahn-type of puzzle games, you'll probably like this one. But I would suggest playing "Baba Is You" first, and "Stephen's Sausage Roll" second before you play this one. They both do a better job of turning the game on its head.

This game felt very "meh" to me. I typically like short games, I prefer short games with a bang over 80 hour epics In Which You Can Do Anything And Go Anywhere.

However, I did not enjoy my time with this game:
- The "story" (I guess it's more of an audio book that you listen to while you play the game) is pretty clichee: Guy meets girl, falls in love, they move together, they fight, the break up. Literally the end.
- The "Twist" is spoiled in the trailer, although I guess that's how you get people to buy this game
- The game feels unfinished: Lots of invisible walls; there is somehow too much and too little handholding at the same time: If you miss the hint, you can wander around aimlessly for hours, turning every stone, wondering which of the things you can even interact with, until afterwards you realize that, oh, the thing you thought was gonna "Be it" from the very start, in fact "Was It", and it only didn't work due to janky controls/physics
- The mechanic of "The Twist" is interesting, but IMHO barely explored properly

Like, I don't want to be too harsh, I can tell the developers tried, but... It just kinda wasn't good enough for me.

Is it good? It's alright. Is it 98% good? Not really, no. But somehow I am the only person who doesn't love Supergiant games...

To quote my friend who recommended me this: It's like Interstellar, but as a game, and better.

I was burned out on games for quite a while, every game feels kinda the same, starting a new one feels like work, etc.. Well, this game will glue you to your screen until it's over. It's like playing for the first time. Amazing.

So you are probably reading the reviews because you have played Danganronpa 1 and are asking yourself whether it is worth your money and effort going on the killing trip again.
As with the first game, there is again a lot of suspension of disbelief required, because the scenario is as usual quite nuts. However, if you are able to let go, lean back, and enjoy the ride, you will very much enjoy this one.

So, to conclude: If you liked the first one, you'll like this one.

I give minor point deductions to this game for doubling done on the action sequences - IMHO this is a logic game where I want to figure out the killer, not ride a halfpipe. But I guess it makes for a change of pace.

Oh, and kill me now with the hangman's gambit.

It's nice and it's short, perfect to squeeze in somewhere in between
