There are alot of reasons I wouldn't recommend this the 2 main ones are this

punishing mechanics that lead to sudden game overs and will end you run, some of them so bad even if you have a back up save you'll have to restart the whole game.

the mode that prevents this mechanic (endless) is stuck behind and ending that requires you to min max this whole game in such a frustrating way that it is hardly worth play.

the content is fine but it's really not worth the effort this plays like and old NES platformer, that is to say, alot of game overs and feels like it's padding for time by forcing you to start from the beginning over and over

This game is great it really is, however, there is a lot of validity to people mentioning the imbalance in skill and builds in ranked. Probably 20 games in to ranked post placement and i'v placed 3rd once. There are counters to most builds, however the matchmaking can be frustrating, listen stick to world tour and quick play and you'll have a great time, join ranked and you're getting molly wopped 15 games in a row by heavy w flame and chain, light w invise, sword and dash, and a medium with aim that defies logic...every single time.

Another complaint is I believe snipers need to be removed, they are fun, however the push game mode is just the worst snipers you've ever seen tdm, and then you'll get em in ranked getting 2 kills trying to make a highlight reel, they really just dont fit the close quarters style this game is amazing in.

All that said, i'd still recommend it, 100 hours in and $60 thrown at the devs and most days are really fun, I'd like to see better heavy grenade launcher and mini gun skins. But really this game is super fun, even after a 10 game lose streak in ranked today I'll still come back tomorrow for more. There are so many fun and engaging builds that can go for hours of fun, heavy demo (grenade launcher, rpg,c4,frag) light slasher villain ( cloaking, knife, invise grenade, teleport, flash bang) medium close quarters point holder ( turret, shotgun, goo grenade, flame grenade, defib) the mix and match is insane.

Give it 30 hours of your time, the first 10 of learning can be really rough, after that you'll run in to what really frustrates you build wise, and once you find that, go play it, I bet you'll be giggling like you're 12.

If you got 6 friends to play with get ready for a great time, if you're solo queuing get ready to get blamed for everything no matter how good you do and maybe get 1 competent game every 10 you play. If you like the genre of hero shooters you'll probably like it, if you kinda didn't like overwatch, this is no different.

Maybe if they ad a role queue to ranked to auto lock 2 tank,2 healer, 2 dps until gold it might be worth your time, other wise get ready to fill tank or heal, and have 4 dps 3 of which can not aim or get a kill. looking at you 2 and 15 spidermans of the world.

Boy is this a video game, a great one even, only take about 2 hours to get through, and a riveting 2 hours at that.
You can't really say much about this without spoiling it, but it's like if event horizon (the movie) was a video game, great story. Just pick it up if you like psychological horror.

You got fired, so you drown your sorrows in booze. She had to get a part-time job working a grocery store cash register. Only reason she could earn a wage at all, is the manager liked the way she looked in a skirt. You remember, right? Exactly 10 months back

70mb and about an hour run time, this is a nice little game worth your time. Not long in the tooth, short and sweet, all the best parts of an idle game without the slog or loss of fun.

Great follow up to SOTN, I will say if you're going to 100% this get ready for a slog, the end game item grinding is horrific to say the least, but it's doable. Id advise looking at the item list on the wiki before you start that last leg of the game to see if any items would be super helpful to you.

Other than that you're gonna find exactly what you expect from a castlevania, lots of back tracking after getting new items, a huge map, maybe about 4 really hard boss fights, too many items that do super busted stuff but don't tell you that in the description, hidden walls, an extensive enemy list (unfortunetly no frankenstein boss :( ) Also a very Aria of sorrows type card collection system in the form of shards. So it really is like the 2 most beloved castlevanias smashed together.

Calling her quits at campaign mission 5/8 here's why.

There's alot to like in this game, but i'll give you the reasons I gave up on it, if you decide those arn't an issue go for it.

1. no terrain leveling I could find, it's mentioned but even at campaign mission 5 it still wasn't available to me, I checked everywhere couldn't find it. This makes it extremly difficult to use the auto placement.

2. Speaking of auto placement it works oddly, no point a to point b placement. like you can't put down on ramp at the bottom, and one at the top and then drag a ramp and have them placed.

3. trains feel useless, the first mine carts only carry loose, non processed stuff (grain, logs, fruit etc) and by the time you get to the point of steam locomotives you can just use the slower caravans to carry everything. Sure it's slower but way less resource intensive, as the stream train has to run on metal tracks, a rather hefty recipe, not un-doable but compared to the 4 reinforced planks the caravan needs, basically makes them feel useless.

4. over all it feels sorts unbalanced tech progression wise, and feels like it's missing alot of QOL(quality of life) features preseent in other factory managers.

I'd recommend satisfactory or factorio over this, both feel more rewarding, and you can tweak the latter to not have enemies if that isnt your speed.

Worth going through the story and dlc once, kinda get's a little tired around the 50 hour mark, builds don't feel quite as impactful as the first game. Still worth a play, maybe get it on sale if you're on the fence, or play it through with a friend, probably more fun that way. I also disagree the story ends when it gets good, the notes fill in alot of the open endedness imo, and the dlcs help a bit too.

Early Access Review
tl;dr I'm only recommending this for vampire survivor veterans wanting to check out more offerings in this genre of rouge lites. You'll get 30-50 hours out of it before you lose interest.

With over 200 hours in vampire survivors and up until recently all achievements in it, I'd say I got a pretty good idea of what makes these types of rouge lite games entertaining.

There is something here, don't get me wrong, it's just not polished in a way I can recommend. A lot of it comes down to feeling like you have a lack of agency, the only build that feels like it works worth a damn beyond hazard 1 is damage and crit. at 30 hours i'v gotten most of the classes to around level 15 (max is 25) and i'm left wanting. Most runs end up feeling like you either focus on mining for your level ups of focus on exp gathering, never both. The game play loop leaves me wanting for something a bit more meaningful. The hazard increase does the normal (difficulty = less player damage, more enemy damage, more enemy health, more enemies) which leaves you feeling like you can't play the game on higher difficulties unless you do the aforementioned build.

That being said I see a lot of positives here, the mining is an interesting addition, the permanent upgrades feel like they make a significant enough improvement, And with out complaining about damage output. a lot of the builds are quite fun.(looking at you auto mining engineer, and way to much mining speed miner with every beam weapon)

I will say my major gripe is the re-rolling, not allowing re-rolls on drop pods murders player agency, and the use of gold for level re-rolls is an atrocious mechanic. I'd like to remind the developers that sometimes borrowing a great idea is better than coming up with a whole new system ( i'm telling you to look at how vampire survivor does both of these cuz it's actually really well done)

I'll come back to this in 6 months to a year and see if anything changed, but as of right now unless your absoulty cooked on vampire survivors and in desperate need of something fresh i'd give this one a pass for the time being, needs more time in the over.
