A really addictive game. All the fun of games like Chivalry, with the added bonus of being able to put together a kingdom. The combat is simple yet enjoyable, and there are tons of free mods to improve the base game and introduce different campaigns (such as the Game of Thrones mod which is a huge map of Westeros and also has other cities such as Braavos and Lys). I also highly recommend the Napoleonic Wars DLC, with its humans v bot game mode which can be tons of fun.

The game can eventually get repetitive late into a campaign, but by then you should have tens of hours sunk into the game, so it's well worth the price, especially as it regularly goes on sale.

A very good city building game.
My first two villages reenacted Chairman Mao's great leap forward - I produced vast amounts of stone and iron, forgetting to actually feed the people, resulting in famines that killed almost everyone. After that I got the hang of things and made a competent village (albeit on easy). When you get to the point of having a nice, stable town the game can be quite serene, with your own little medieval utopia on your computer.
I haven't played on the harder modes much, however, but so far no diseases or fires have wiped out any town I've made, which is nice. The civilians are intelligent, and the game is well laid out and easy to understand and so far I haven't experienced any glitches or bugs. There are also lots of clever small details, like labourers automatically replacing the job of a citizen who dies (for example, if your teacher dies, a labourer will take their place, so your students are still educated).

Overall this game provides a very nice experience and a reasonable challenge.
