R.E.P.O.; the most funniest game when playing with friends, yet quite a good scary one when playing solo

Note before you read: Those are my personal opinions and views of the Game.

Repo is, next to Lethal Company, one of the most funniest but also quite the most horrifying multiplayer game when playing with friends and solo. Multiplayer.. obviously the horror gets replaced with lots of funny moments with your friends, but when playing solo, it has quite a chilling atmosphere and with mods (love that the devs openly support mods, that's so awesome) even a lot more better!

Graphics and Atmosphere

Similar like in Lethal Company, it has an old-school PS1-PS2 Look when you keep the pixelation on the highest setting (of course you can lower it when you have difficulty seeing anything with the filter). Me, who grew up with an PS2, love the old feel the game gives when playing on high pixelation. But without the pixelation, the game is a really simple, yet really good looking game that doesnt need high Triple A Standard Graphics to be an good game. The Atmosphere of the Game (when playing solo) immediately drags you into the feeling of dread with the excellent ambient and sound design. However with playing friends.. not as much but still quite chilling.

Gameplay

Gameplay? Very simple like in Lethal Company. Collect Stuff, bring it to the Extractions and try to survive. What i love about this, you can use items you find to be able to damage the enemies and if lucky, kill them. You either play stealthy or you become a babarian.. which you can become either way when getting guns in the shop lol. When playing with Friends, the game turns quickly into an good sh*tshow. Accidentally smashing an cup to an friend and kill them. The amount of times i've laughed when me and my friends killed each other accidentally x'D.

Devs and Community

Devs? Amazing with regular videos of Game Updates, QnA's and even simply reacting to what the community creates. It's rare seeing Devs actually caring about their Playerbase and even join the fun the community creates. The Community is very creative with modding, how they play the game (that includes speedrunning and simply giving gameplay tactics and tipps) and even in the artistic ways. Dozens of many creative individuals in this community!

My Final Thoughts

Repo is one of my favorite Indie Multiplayer Game i regularly play with my friends, when they are available. Even when playing solo, the game is very fun. It can become frustrating in some cases tho. Aside, the community is very creative and the Devs full-on support mods. I can't wait for any future updates and hope the Devs have a lot of fun interacting with the community and keep giving the game updates! A solid 10/10 Game!

Mage Arena; a good concept with an unfinished and unoptimised outcome

Note before you read: Those are my personal opinions and views of the Game.

What started with an good concept in mind, turns out to be an very unfinished piece of media. I watched my friend playing it a few times and it looked like fun. Tho, despite the very simplicity of the game and the Core Mechanic which are those 2 Game Modes, it requires a lot more tweaking and polishing before it can even be enjoyed by the majority. The Accents Tab is a really nice for those which's mother language isn't primarily english, like me.

Graphics and Atmosphere

I was growing up in the old PS2, Xbox 360 and Nintendo DS Era. The Graphics are very much inspired by the old PS2 Era in which Games looked like total trash, but were very charming with their controls and atmosphere that still created, despite the graphics. I love the graphics of this game, yet with the amount of effects of spells when there are many cast at the same place, it becomes very difficult to see anything. Especially at the Lava Fortress.

Music

Only one track which is in the home menu. It's nothing super fancy. It's a cute little jingle but that's pretty much it.

Playerbase

The Playerbase is not surprising for such a type of Game. Pretty much racist, homophobic and dozens of N*zis. You only see one flag and at point it gets tiring for me to see it every round. Third round was to my surprise a guy spamming music with one that contained nothing but a child repeatingly saying the N word while flying around unfairly around our base for being an nuisance, causing me and my friend to leave. Further more, there are barely any lobbies. You actually have to spam the Refresh Button to join any, if you dont want to be the host of your own Lobby.

Gameplay and Mechanics

You cast spells with your voice to attack other players, which is a nice concept. Deathmatch and Capture the Flag are the only gameplay modes, which isnt much. The controls feel smooth, however barely gets explained of what to do once you're in a match. No real directions or a sense of knowing where to go most of the time. The Game tends to give you Lag Spikes (from my experience) and, it could be an Me issue, but i really don't like switching spells with the number keys, instead of scrolling with your mouse. The Item Tabs should be accessable with the number keys for a much more smooth Gameplay Experience.

My Final Thoughts

Mage Arena in general is a nice, cute concept, however a big failure of rushing development for an unfinished and unoptimised game with a Playerbase of people you would otherwise find on Twitter or in Games like CS:GO, Team Fortress 2 etc, I wouldn't recommend it when you have directional issues, Epilepsy and don't want to be confronted with an "I'm 10 and edgy"-type of playerbase.

I do hope the Game will get improved with its Accessability, Gameplay and overall Overhaul of the technical side of it. If it does, i'll revisit this Review and hope for an more positive one. For now, i do not recommend this game at its current state.

Edit: I've read and heard the Dev wants to make already an second part of this game. So, they're doing the old EA Tactic. Release an unfinished Game for a quick buck and work on the next unfinished one. Might as well work at EA to do the exact same lmao.

Peak; a cute game you can play with your friends when you have no clue what to play together

Note before you read: Those are my personal opinions and views of the Game.

Peak, despite the name, is actually.. quite peak. At first i was rather skeptical as it seemed boring for me at first glance. As then one of my friends dragged me into trying it out.. i was too harsh with my skepticism at first. The game is actually quite fun, but it can become boring and sometimes really dang frustrating after a long while, which is why i recommend not playing it everyday.

Graphics and Atmosphere

The Graphics of this game are very simple and actually cute, giving the game quite some charm. Though, when you start the game, you have the option of either using Vulkan or DRX and for my Pc.. both options are a miss. Vulkan uses barely of my GPU but for that nearly half of my RAM. (I have 16GB of RAM and i plan on upgrading it when i am more financially stable.) DRX is GPU based and it takes the entirety of your GPU. So, you can decide of rather making your GPU suffer or your RAM. Be resourceful, my players.

Goal

As the Game has not really a story, except you bought a ticket and crashed on an Island, the simple goal of this game is forming a deeper connection with your friends, building up more trust of helping them climb with you to the highest point of.. wherever you are where you landed on. You need to be strategic and listen to your friend's opinion of possible leads. There can be a lot of funny moments when playing with your friends, but it gets somewhat overlashed with frustation when they slip off and die in front of your eyes.

My Final Thoughts

Peak is quite a fun game you can either play solo (when you actually have the courage to do so) or play with your friends. Though, some parts can be rather frustrating. There are spots where you can't stand despite it should be possible to do so, or you get stuck by somehow managing clipping into the stone while climbing, which leads to weird deaths. Sure, the game is not 100% perfect as it only had a few weeks of developing time, but it's good either way.
I'm looking forward for new Updates that could potentionally improve the game even more. As of now, i would give the game a solid 8/10.

Even as it shows it's age as well like the first one, it's still very enjoyable. I love the humor and funny moments where i even had to let out some chuckles like in the first game. It looks way more better with the improved lightning system as well. The music ain't that repetitive like in the first one, which made me enjoy the game a lot more. There were some parts where i seriously bugged out, basically like in the first game, but well, it's a old game.

The more downside part is, for some reason, the game does not save the configuartions of your own controls, in which you have to re-configure every time you start the game.

But overall, a pretty enjoyable game.

Quite a fun game, despite showing it's age. Had a blast playing it, despite softlocking myself way to many times and had to restart the levels... but, i enjoyed it a lot. Loved the humor in the game and the sweet small gimmicks you can do as well. Also the small developer room was really cute to see!

The only downside is the repeating soundtrack. Had to mute the soundtrack after a while as it got way to repetitive each time.

Sky: Children of the Light; A beautiful, relaxing game with terrible IAP's and Dev's who don't listen to the Community

Note before you read: Those are my personal opinions and views of the Game. And i wish there is a "Maybe" Review Button inbetween of yes and no.

Sky: Children of the Light is a beautiful, relaxing Game in which i felt in love with as my friend showed me dozens of screenshots of the game, which caught my curiosity.
As an Player who has around 560 Hours on the Nintendo Switch, before switching to Pc (thank god) and have been playing since 2021, i've come to notice the increased rising of InApp-Purchases and the Ignorance of the Developers, and i would like to talk about it.

Before that, i want to talk about the positive aspects of the game.

Graphics and Atmosphere

The Game has one of the most beautiful soundtracks i've ever witnessed. Each track was handcrafted with soft care and love, bringing lots of emotions with it. The soundtrack itself tell a story, without even needing to play the game. It's very soft and beautiful.
Amongst the soundtrack, we also have the soft and cartoonish-childlike, yet very beautiful graphics. It's not extremely high detailed like every Triple A Game. No, the game has very simple, yet beautiful looking graphics, giving the game the cozy atmosphere which is known of with the gentle soundtrack, as well as with the sounds of the game.

Story and Connections

Sky is one of the very few Games in which i like to spend my time one when i don't feel in the right place of mind. The Stories around each spirit and the Main Game itself, create a emotional bridge to the players, feeling sympathy towards their own character, and to the spirits around them.
Spirits tell stories in form of memories, in which the player recieves and connect with it. Both gameplay wise, and emotional. The stories are meant to show and teach the players, especially young ones, the stages of every emotion that the human mind is capable to express in a soft, tenderly way.
When you meet another player, they show as grey. As how you meet your friends. Dark strangers, before you light them and let them in, into your light of warmth and trust. A very touching feature to the game.

Now, let's head over to the negative part of my review.

Greedy, Ignorant Higher Ups and Overworking Devs

As like every other Liveservice Online-Game, there are InApp Purchases. As much as i don't have anything against them, i noticed the increased change of prices, especially Regional ones. When you live in a poor country, you have to nearly spend around 75% more on a single cosmetic, than those who live over at america or europe.
Many, MANY players, including me, were raising our concerns about it, but.. as you can see, the Devs do not react or cannot speak up, due to the highers ups. IAP's shouldn't cost over 20 Bucks in my opinion. You drive more people away with the increasing prices, rather than getting new ones and let the old ones stick as well.

The Devs are feeding us with new seasons with like no tomorrow. One Season ends, the second one starts after 2 weeks, as well with Events. The Devs have no chance to check for game breaking bugs, because the Higher Ups tell the Devs to overwork 'til they fall over. It's not only unhealthy for the Devs, but for the players as well.

Please give us a longer break from Seasons and Events. Sky became more of an grindgame, rather than a cozy game. It breaks the connection between the community and the developers a ton.

----------------------------------------------------------------

That's my Review of Sky: Children of the Light.

As much as i love this Game, it has so many issues and i'm afraid of the future for this game.
