Refreshing mechanics for turn-based RPG, really good "social-link" system, huge improvement over persona series where you sometimes had to guess which action progress the link. In here, it's less on dating sim and more on strengthening alliance, which fitted so much with its story.

The only thing I have mixed feelings about so far are the "persona" (here called heroic embodiment). It is much similar to classes and each characters can change to any class quickly (outside battle). Even though each character leaned towards specific class (based on stat and link), the way the game works (class passives, leveling classes) kinda drives you towards 'cheese' strat because it works best. For example, Strohl is a warrior class, but in some way you kinda have better party if you put him to merchant, which is way far from warrior.

I guess it's good because you can have anyone in party (unlike in persona which you kinda have same party until the end of the game, or even yourself is enough). And God knows how I like this press-turn system over 1 more in persona. All in All, Great RPG from Atlus, if not the best.

TL;DR : Buy it if you like anime game with gameplay a mix between MH:W combat & progression with Genshin flashiness and style.

It's like a dream come true. I've been waiting for too long for a PC character-collection RPG (gacha type games) that has no predatory microtransactions, no time-gated progression, no bread-crumbing content across year to keep you in the dark but still commited and cannot move on. I'd almost lost hope, 7 years waiting without any information is a whole kind of let down. But in the end, FREAKIN FINALLY !

And on top of it, it freakin delivers with 5-star rainbow sprinkles. Beautiful character and world design, great animation, skill effects. Plenty of characters and each characters have distinct enough playstyle to make you want to play everyone. And THANK GOD it is actually possible to play everyone without burning your pockets or waiting for stars to align to play those characters. So, because this is a collection-RPG by design, i'll weight out this game like those type of games :

- Story : Good enough to make you pay attention to it and not skipping. Also, cutscenes & animations are top-notch. Soundtracks are a banger but sometimes a little bit too familiar with other JRPGS (no flair/unique)
- Character : Perfect. Yes, some character are stronger so there will be someone out there making tier-lists, but think about it like Monster-Hunter. Every character is great once you know how to use them.
- Grind : If you want to max everyone it's possible, but I think you need to focus on maybe 6-8 character you liked first so you don't feel the grind because your character Power Level kinda matters a lot. And there are some helpful tips like only recruit other character after you reach Lv 60 to save resource.
- Endgame Content : They already said to keep this game updated with content (new bosses, new characters, and stuff), but even without all that, I think this game already have a solid content to make it a full game and not live-service game in disguise.

Bottom line, I think this is an easy 8/10 game for general consensus. But it's 10/10 for me personal reason stated above. Not only that but you could also send a message to other game companies to make games like these.

Good variation of mini games and amazing loop of day to day gameplay. Story also unraveling in a way that you will not expect. It's loads of loads of fun which is rare for a game to do nowadays

I think this is one of the best card battler since Slay The Spire. It's also a breath of fresh air as it's less focusing on building the best combo deck and more on strategy, unit synergy, enemy match-ups, etc. Maybe that's why most of Steam reviewers calls it hard, because you have to think about a lot of things. But on other way, the game also feels less RNG-y and you have almost full control on how good the run is instead of depending on 'this build need this card, this relic, etc'.
