It's a good game. Plays like a Clocktower game, You have to explore, solve puzzles, avoid the monster, and that's pretty much it. It is pretty short, scenario A and scenario B both take around two hours to complete each. I love exploration and puzzle solving, but I found myself missing combat. I would love to make more choices about how to expend my resources, i.e. risk ammo or risk health items. But how the game is it just feels like a spooky stealth game. Once again it is a good game and I enjoyed it, but it feels like its lacking an extra ingredient to turn it from a good game to a great one.

Complete nostalgia buy, and I loved every second of replaying this classic. Well maybe every second except for those spent on Jabba's Ship. There were some weird technical problems with how the mouse worked, every now and again the game would turn me to look at a random direction, sometimes 180 degrees from where I was looking. Hopefully small issues like that will be patched soon. However, Dark Forces and it's sequels are excellent games with some awesome original EU lore.

The price however is quite perplexing. I don't mind shilling out a bit of cash for a studio remastering a childhood classic, but I don't understand where the $30 price point came from. The System Shock Remake literally rebuilt the entire game from the ground up and is $40, which is only $10 more than this remaster which seems like it just adds graphical improvements and some mouse controls. The extra content is awesome, playing the original demo level is a real treat, but you can get through the bonus content in a half hour. I won't leave a bad review because the game itself and the remaster are genuinely good, and I also am hoping this provides incentive to remaster the entire dark forces series.

I would say if you have never played this game and are not in any rush, wait for a sale. Despite feeling like I spent $10 more than I should have, I had a great time with this remaster.
