I can't realistically give this game a good review. I'm at the very end of the game and there are some glaring issues with this game. Most of it has to do with the map design being ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awful.

The biggest issue for me as someone trying to enjoy this game is that the world is actually TOO LARGE for what it needs to be. This might sound odd, but there are SO MANY sections of this game where you're quite literally interacting with a basic hill for 5-10+ minutes straight. No interesting puzzles or obstacles, just a flat area that runs on for way too long to be enjoyable. If you look at games like Getting Over It or ADGAC, there's a constant stream of obstacles to play around with and get through. In this game on the other hand, every single enjoyable section is separated by about 5-10+ minutes of unnecessary boring flat ground EVERY SINGLE TIME and the enjoyable puzzling sections are usually very small in contrast.

The 2nd MAJOR issue with this game is that the map design IS supportive of multiple routes but it's NOT supportive of creative possibly unintended or odd routes. I can't even count the number of times in this game I've wanted to explore a certain area of the map, but by the time I'm done doing that I've come to realize that I've quite literally accomplished NOTHING and if ANYTHING I've actually LOST PROGRESS. That is the most frustrating stupid ♥♥♥♥ in the world. In a game where travel is so vital and so time consuming along with it being somewhat OPEN WORLD, you'd think the developers would be intelligent enough to AVOID designing the map in a way that would actually PUNISH creative people or just curious players in general. Isn't the point of the game to explore?

My 3rd major issue with the game is that since it doesn't have a built in map feature, making progress in a meaningful way can be incredibly INCREDIBLY confusing and frustrating ESPECIALLY DUE TO THE 2nd POINT I MADE. A lot of the 'intended paths' are sometimes HIDDEN AWAY on the other side of some random seemingly useless hill or obstacle. Many of the intended paths feel like a chore to actually discover. What makes this worse, is that the alternative, more challenging quicker paths are USUALLY DISCOVERED FIRST WHICH IS INCREDIBLY STUPID. The developers seemingly intentionally showed you more difficult paths first and hid away the intended easier paths super far away past 5 minutes of walking in boring flat ground. This makes the intended easier paths totally unappealing to go DISCOVER to begin with.

4th issue: the game inherently seems to punish you for being good at it. There's a particular section in the desert where there's a decently long climb up to a cactus that punches you off of the entire cliff. Nothing about this interaction is interesting at all. Nothing about the interaction is fun. Nothing about the interaction is enjoyable. It's quite literally just a big '♥♥♥♥ you' for no reason at all. What makes this worse is that the obstacles you have to go through to get to that point are NOT HARD but incredibly time consuming. So not only were you ♥♥♥♥♥♥ over for no reason, but you were ♥♥♥♥♥♥ over and forced to redo a pretty boring section in general that's just a slog to get through. Why punish players for being good at your game? Are you alright in the head? That's insane.

Lastly, NOT A SINGLE CHARACTER, and I mean a SINGLE one of them is interesting or fun to watch in cutscenes. Every character in this game is horribly difficult to listen to and interact with. They are usually incredibly uninteresting, grueling, and so jarring. I don't think the developers could've designed more jarring and cringeworthy characters possible to the point where they're genuinely hard to look at and listen to. Just makes the entire experience so much worse.

Overall, the map design of this game is atrocious. Many of the sections are far too large which hurts the overall feel of the game. I'm an INCREDIBLY PATIENT person and this ♥♥♥♥ still annoyed me to no end. It's super frustrating too because this game has so much potential and it's ruined by developers who never played their own map or game. If they did, these issues would've never existed.

This is one of the greatest games I've ever played.
The DLC for this game is the greatest DLC I've ever played (except for some stuff made by Fromsoftware ofc).

PontyPants is a GENIUS. The man is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ genius. The level design is incredible.

Look I'd understand if this were a $10.00 DLC for Elden Ring, but a standalone title worth $40.00? Please. Biggest waste of money imaginable. What a joke.
