IMO, I can't recommend the game in the current state. Feels like it needs more time to be fleshed out, among which are:
1.Economy
It could use a little love, IMO. Small bump in radiant quests, if one's in green with given faction.
2. Weapon balance
I, once, run into pseudo-giant. Before that, I found an RPG7 with three rockets. Was it enough to kill it? No. Hell, even when I shot point-blank at myself, it didn't kill me.

I put about 120 hours into the game, enjoying the game, despite its issue and some bugs that are pilling up. But, just today I learned I'll be forced to link my Steam account to PSN account, which I don't have, and wasn't part ot the deal when I purchased the game. And PSN is known to be hacked into A LOT.
Way to kill the game. I'll certainly try to get the refund for the game.
Adiós Super Earth, I'll treason in about a month.
I hope Arrowhead/Sony will come to their senses and reverse this. If not, ah well.

Edit:
To put it simply: PSN change has been revoked, hence, the edit. And few more words:
Game's incredibly fun with friends. Granted, it is a diamond in polishing. Bugs happen, CTDs happens, the weapons balance is... not-well, IMO. But it all can be touched up by the DEV team.
Edit_2:
How the !@#$ bugs slip through QUALITY TEAM (ASSUMING THERE IS ONE)??
You input stratas too fast, YOU CANT USE THEM. IN A GAME, WHERE QUICK INPUT CAN BE WIPE OR NOT. WELL-EFFIN-DONE...
In a middle of major MAJOR ORDER. WELL DONE, I GUESS??
Edit_3 (21th July of 2025):
Game's out for one year, 5 months and 13 days. And still lacks some kind of flares strata or nightvision addition. Well done AH, well done. /s

Into the Unjust? More like: Into the bugged piece of crap.
Community is asking for again AND AGAIN for perfomance fixes, undo-the-bloat game became (~140 gigs on PC VS ~35 gigs on console). And now, on top of that, THIS CRAPPY UPDATE. FPS issues, audio issues, divers getting stuck into terrain. AND ABOVE ALL, LACK OF COMMUNICATION. WHEN, THE ♥♥♥♥, WILL YOU FIX THE GAME, ARROWHEAD?

After Summertime Update that happened on 7th September of 2023, I feel obligated to do negative-review for this game.
Premium currency in singleplayer/cooperation game. What the hell?
Scummy practices. Few DLCs can't be bought directly from Steam. The only way is to buy them at in-game shop. And of course, what cannnot be bought from Steam directly, cannot be reviewed nor discounted. And I don't see their premium currency, Dying Light Points to be at any kind of sale, as Tencent show their greed knows no limit.
Also, the game has been filled with some bugs. Two come in mind, as I keep seeing 'em happening. Audio ♥♥♥♥-ups when fighting many enemies with modded weapons. This has been in the game since Good Night, Good Luck update.
The other is that the spears dropped by the Renegades enemies can't be picked up. Which has been in game since Gut Feeling update. About 3 months. And is not fixed.
What did we got instead with newest update, Summertime?
Good things: finally delivered new knife animations | Bonus XP on night adventures has been lifted | some new fonts
Bad things: nerfs to weapons damage, weapon mods critical chance, stamina consumption, boosters nerfs, some unique gear that can be bought from Pilgrim Outpost (tokens are earned with challenges completion). None of this has been clearly written in patch notes. And let me tell you, grinding to max out mods and boosters recipies is long and time-consuming. So is token farming.
And there has been data-mining that shows Techland was/is planning to add what can be descriped as Pay 2 Win. In singleplayer game. And here is the Link to Youtube about it.
For me it shows the game has taken road I want not to support with my money anymore.

In nutshell: ripoff, don't buy this bundle unless you really care for the outfit, as the weapons are really weak, even when the blueprints are maxed out. Stats below:
Negan's knife = 403 damage, no mod slots available & charm slot available

Michonne's katana = 403 (!) damage, bleed effect when crit hit occurs, increased chance to dismember, according to the description, no mod slots available & charm slot available

Lucille's bat = 362 damage, blast effect when crit hit occurs, it will infect any human, according to the description, no mod slots available & charm slot available

Writing this review, I've got 55.8 hours. If I knew what piece of crap this game is, core-wise, I'd'nt buy it AT ALL. Granted, I've got love 'n hate relationship with this game. BUT, the cons outweight pros:
- Artificial limitations on equipment. Throwing knives, for example: can't buy them nor make them. The only way is: hope you'll get it at the mission start, in the chest. And then, pray you'll make use of it during mission. You can't take them back and save for other times.
- You have a quest to capture a monster? Then, chance are you'll meet THREE monsters of this very location IN THE SAME spot. Not once, not twice. More than thrice. And obviously the one you want might be killed by others. And you're on the clock there too!
- Stunlocks...
- Considering the game was made from Capcom, one would expect some nice combat flow. There's crap flow. One cannot change, based on my experience with Long Sword, the very direction without breaking the combo flow. And obviously, monsters can disrupt the flow. But player? Expect to not than to. Unless one brought paralysis/sleep gun and the status is applied. And be it small Vespoid, medium Jagras or grant Rathalos. Anything can break your combo.
- If you are in a pickle and ran for your life to hide in bushes to drink health potion, you can. Unless monster roars you out of it. That's right. One's taking a sip, barely first, and monster roars? Three things happens: you lost your potion, the potion's effect AND you're out of your hide. Seems hunters in this game weren't told one can cover their ears without breaking their hiding... And of course you can only take few per mission/expedition. No refills from your stock. The only way to refill is to find them around the map. But, anything that breaks your animation... say bye bye to potion.
- Animations. Long. Quite long. TOO LONG.
Summary:
This game has pros, it really does. But the core of it, fighting monsters, is terrible beyond. Clunky fight, crap flow, slow animations, stunlocks, equipment limitations.
