Get it. Still being updated in year 2024. Great game.

It's a great puzzle game. The challenges are rewarding and it's got a really nice atmosphere. The Swapper aesthetic has a lot of charm and it has quite a unique art style for sci-fi space oriented game, which isn't easy to achieve when there's a crowded field.

It's great too look back at these games that are going on to be ~10 years and seeing how well they hold up. It's as good as the first day it was released.

I don't normally do pre-orders, but pre-order is in for Portal 3.

I really enjoyed my time with this game. Classic Pacman fun with modern visual style and throbbing soundtrack. It definitely gets intense!

I liked this game. I didn't play Guardian of Light so can't compare it to that.

The controls took a bit of getting used to but that's not hard.

Boss battles were challenging. I like this style of game better than the direction that Tombraider went in 2013, it's much more interesting. Tombraider 2013 and onward is generic game play experience, however the Lara Croft games are unique.

There are a ton of worse games out there that get better reviews, so forget about reviews and give this one a try as you might like it. I did.

I just realised that I purchased the boxed version of this game and it came with a Lara Croft doll, it's around somewhere.

The game is good when it works.

But in recent times, can't even play classic towers without server issues.

The server issues are disruptive. You can't even explore Krypt properly. It half works but when the server goes game comes up with error message and your back at title screen.

Key portions of the game should not be reliant on having active servers, maybe it's planned obsolescence?

It's like Tombraider 2013. RE8 is one of the most insipid games ever made, but it hides behind a slick veneer of polished graphics and a marketing campaign centred around well endowed goth lady. Whoop de doo.

RE8 has a hodgepodge of incongruous themes and there's no mention of S.T.A.R.S. or Umbrella Corporation.

The puzzles suck and it's an open world yawn fest. Everything is too easy, it's for dummies honestly.

It is boring as fudge.

It's not scary.

There are loot barrels. Why? Makes the game feel generic like every other game with loot crates.

There's an idiotic shop keeper! I mean, wtf?!! Totally unnecessary.

The shop keeper cooks recipes. Double wtf!? You hunt animals, no this is not Witcher it's supposed to be Resident EVIL.

Bosses suck so bad.

RE8 is not even a good game in its own right.

There's children's pop up story books! Again, more idiocy.

It's got some weird Tim Burten-esque style things going on out of step with Resident Evil style.

So RE8 is completely devoid of its original character and charm and soul and has become a generic open world pile of crap. Awful, just awful.

This is one of the best games ever made.

I'll get around to writing a proper review at some point.
