:: Mecha Break, the game where I finally learned the harsh truth that the only thing truly pay-to-win... is paying for lessons on how to aim.

For those of you who missed Exteel (rest in pixels, oldie), this is essentially the sequel we never got, wrapped in shiny modern graphics, absurdly tight movement controls, and combat so good it makes me question why I ever wasted my youth on MMOs with hotbar rotations.

Naturally, the internet being what it is, people showed up Day 1 expecting to buy their way to victory with a Platinum Founder's Pack, only to discover you still need reflexes, aim, and spatial awareness. Tragic, truly. Now they're leaving reviews crying about "unfair monetization" because no amount of dollars could compensate for their inability to press dodge at the right time.

:: Gameplay plan:
Dash, shoot, slice, boost, repeat. If you’re not sweaty by round 3 you’re either dead or in the tutorial.

Mechs range from "elegant samurai" to "a fridge taped to a missile launcher," all viable if you have functioning neurons.

Weapons feel weighty, hits feel impactful, and swordfights feel like Gundam married Dark Souls and had a caffeine-fueled child.

:: Monetization:
Yes, there are skins. Yes, you can buy some cosmetics. No, none of that stopped me from cleaving whales in half with my starter sword. Unless "pay to win" means "pay to look cool while still losing," I'm not seeing the issue.

:: Community:
Half the playerbase: sweaty veterans from Exteel and Armored Core, here to relive their glory days.

The other half: screaming about how losing isn't their fault.

100% of us: deeply confused why this isn't already an esport.

:: Final Verdict:
If you’re losing, it’s not because someone spent $10 on a new paint job. It’s because you spent $0 on learning how to dodge missiles. Git good, or git evaporated.

Possibly the best coop (couch or online) game i've ever played.
Played it with my son 7y old, and he is delighted.
This is the only game he always wants more.. (other games he just swaps out fast)

I'd reccomment this game to anyone who loves action RPG's and most of all - repetitive grinding.
Building your character is super fun, and variety is everywhere.. I wouldnt say everything is viable, but everything is FUN.

For me though, i'm 41 years old, and have no interest in grinding games no more, so i shelved this one.

But if you got plenty of time on your hands, and crave for really good ARPG - look no further!

This has to be one of the best grinding games i've enjoyed.
- Story is fking awesome.
- Frames have variety, there is something for anyone.
- Game modes are so different (you can fight with your spaceship even!)
- Customization (fashion AND skills) is also immaculate!

This has to be the most refreshing gaming experience i've had in a long time.
A true spiritual successor to Battlerite and Bloodline Champions.

- Combat is unmatched! Simplicity, balance, and variety. You got it covered here. It's very interactive.
- Base building is so simple you don't have to be engineer to make basic house, yet it allows for some of the most ingenious designs!
- Resource harvesting respects player's time, unlike other games which want you in the grind wheel.

All in all - 10/10 for Stunlock Studios, this is really a gem!
