As fun as I remember it being on PS3 but one thing I don't remember is how insanely bad the rubberbanding in race missions is

It's maybe the worst I've seen in any game ever, you can be a half lap ahead of the other racers and make a single mistake and all of them will pass you. Then the AI literally forgets where the gas pedal is and lets you catch up as if they knew the rubberbanding was unfair but didn't know how to or didn't want to put in the effort to fix it, so instead you get your own beneficial rubberbanding?

Pretty absurd that in a AAA game where driving is (or at least was at one point) 2/3s of the game, races feel like an afterthought by the developers and an absolute chore to play

Car physics are also a huge downgrade from GTA4, every car rolls constantly from the slightest thing, both beneficially when you're on your roof praying not to explode the car, and also putting you in that same situation to begin with. Really hoping GTA6 goes back to that rather than building off this.

Other than that I can say I don't at all regret choosing to replay this for 15$ rather than buy any new games currently on the market, video games as a whole have been ♥♥♥♥ for a while and I don't have much faith in Rockstar for GTA6 tbh

Forces you to pick a gamemode, watch 3 cutscenes, and go through a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cutesy haha silly goofy ahh ♥♥♥♥♥♥ intro where you're essentially signing onboarding papers for a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ job, because the developer/writer thinks they're a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ woke socially conscious comedian, all before you get a chance to open an options menu and change the resolution of the game, adjust audio levels, and make any other changes you would want to make BEFORE playing

I'm almost ruined on the experience of playing off that alone. Last updated in 2022 and breaks a basic rule of PC gaming that existed for almost 20 years at that point. Probably the result of a lazy console port, if not then the devs are just absolute morons

Edit: Amazing idea for a game that is poorly executed in many aspects, and instead of leaning into what fun there is to be had, the gameplay is used purely as a vehicle to get across a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ story where you're supposed to relate to a bunch of hipsters in wage slavery. I'd hate pretty much every one of these characters aside from the trainer who I assume is going to be revealed to be a company man and a bad guy at some point in real life, and was angry every time the game forced me to listen to them drone on and on for up to 5 minutes at a time between in game days. Aside from that the game is janky as ♥♥♥♥ and its most basic mechanics constantly bug out and break, even positive reviews will admit that

Tl;dr: Cool idea I wish was made by a better dev. Space cleanup simulator doesn't need a bad story, spend that time making the gameplay better instead ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Game is fun when the combat is fluid and it feels like DOOM 1 and 2. Unfortunately there's tons of unnecessary dialogue and annoying platforming that breaks that up, like most modern games especially circa 2016. In addition to this annoying shield enemies that break up the flow of combat and don't belong in the game are present.

I just want to shoot things, not do parkour while following green lights nor be forced to care about a story
Blah blah blah I get it I'm the DOOM guy and there's a demon infestation, it's the same ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ story it's been since the early 90s, you don't have to lock me in a small room with nothing to do but spin around and look at the walls and listen for 2 full minutes to tell me this. JUST LET ME SHOOT THINGS. WHO CARES ABOUT THE FACILITY DIRECTOR, THE GAY ANNOYING AI ROBOT ON THE INTERCOM, OR THE CORTANA KNOCK-OFF. I JUST WANNA ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ SHOOT STUFF AAAAAHHHHHH

Maybe arcade mode will be fun, I'm willing to give it a fair chance because the game does look beautiful, the soundtrack is good, and the combat can be fun, but the campaign for this game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ booty buttcheeks

Fun roguelike that you can play with one hand while smoking, which makes it even better than real slot machines that you would have to have a free hand to feed coins. Far cheaper than real slots too, 3.50$ (sale price) for over 6 hours played so far. Even if you're playing nickel slots you'll lose more than that in 20 minutes IRL

Control is a fairly run-of-the-mill third person shooter in most ways. Combat feels lacking, the story is VERY poorly written in a lot of aspects (Game is essentially 'X-Files: The game' and the main character comes from a town called "Ordinary". Someone give the person who pitched that a raise lmao), and even though I'm not very far into the game I can say I feel like I'll be agreeing with all the reviews saying the basic gameplay loop is dull and repetitive

But the setting itself basically offsets all of this. The building you're in, "The Oldest House", steals the show as being the most interesting character, ever-shifting non-euclidian geometry/architecture and weird dreamlike atmospheres really save what is otherwise not that special. There aren't a whole lot of dull moments exploring until you have to backtrack to do optional missions, and wanting to see more of The Oldest House is more than enough motivation for me to keep playing despite being so generic of a game in nearly every other regard.

Absolutely worth the common sale price of 5-15$, but I don't know if I'd be willing to pay much more than that just to see the environments (you could always just watch Youtube videos for free, at least til it goes on sale again, which is often)

Amazing game, takes almost all the best parts from all the best shooters of the last 25 years or so and combines them. Slow motion, cloak/invisibility, human shields, environmental explosives, grenades that can be shot out of the air, slide tackles, and best of all AI that actually makes sense within the context of the game and still feels fair at the highest difficulty while also being a serious challenge

Runs at a fluid 160 FPS despite the fact that I'm playing on hardware that's 10 years outdated. People complain that the story is only 6 hours or so if you play on a difficulty you can breeze through but there's also multiple horde style maps where waves of enemies come after you, and I have a strong feeling this will be a 2-3x playthrough game before I put it down for good

Personally I think the people who are done with the game after 6 hours should git gud and play a higher difficulty, and that getting this game 50% off for 15$ USD is like stealing from the Developer. I almost feel guilty enough to refund it and pay full price (not really but you get the picture by now)

Awful compared to the old Resident Evil games. Not fun, not scary, not enjoyable in any way.

Mia and Ethan are ♥♥♥♥♥♥ characters and I hate them both. The only returning character I saw Chris Redfield seems somehow even more devoid of personality than the old games.

There's literally like 5+ minutes of walking simulator before the actual game starts, walking around your house putting your daughter to bed, walking around in a spooky forest with Blair Witch project camera and no light while SPOOKY NOISES happen, walking around an abandoned village with MORE SPOOKY NOISES

Combat in the game consists of fighting werewolves while using your hands to block, 5 seconds after the first werewolf you encounter eats half of one of your hands. I'm sorry but I can only do the ludonarrative dissonance thing so far, when you're having me block the thing that eats my hand in the cutscene 5 seconds after the cutscene with my hands I just laugh at how unbelieveable and goofy your combat system is. In addition to that the werewolves also have this Wesker level dodge ability where they can literally dodge bullets. Not like a quick dash where your bullet can still connect like zombies in the old games and even the remakes for them, but they literally will phase through your bullets as if they're RE5 Wesker. Very fun and totally not an annoying way to just chew through my ammo and artificially increase the difficulty of the game

And as if the phasing through bullets wasn't enough, killing that first wolfman basically requires you to either land 20 perfect headshots in a row or perfect the art of knife fighting on the hardest difficulty. Resident Evil games have always had sponge bosses but to start the game with one is a boldly retarded choice. By the time I successfully did it it took a dozen tries and I didn't feel one drop of joy or excitement, just an instant feeling of "I don't want to see what the rest of this game has to offer" wash over me.

All the soul has been sucked out of this franchise and I think I'm finally ready to let it go. I'm genuinely convinced that if this piece of ♥♥♥♥ didn't have the Resident Evil name attached to it, nobody would've called it anything other than mediocre and it would've flown compltely under the radar rather than getting all the praise it received. Instant refund

Early Access Review
This game helped me realize i'm honestly just not a big fan of the oversaturated survival crafting game market, or extremely hardcore crafting games

Nothing against the game itself I'm sure it's really cool if you want to sink a thousand hours into it but it's not very accessible starting out and I basically immediately lost interest after starting the tutorial, building a grass house, feeding my cat, and talking to a handful of npcs at a camp just north of the starting position.

You have to really enjoy the genre and be willing to put a lot of time into this to get anything out. Like squeezing blood from a stone. I'm sure the blood is sweet if you're willing to put yourself through it but this ain't for me Chief
