Realistically, My Singing Monsters is a technological marvel. Really just incredible stuff.

Fantastic Souls game, and another great display from FromSoft.

Keep in mind, I thought that Dark Souls and Bloodborne were the best soulsborne games to come out to date, i thought that both Dark Souls 2 and 3 were good but not as good as Bloodborne and I found Dark Souls to just slightly have the edge over Bloodborne, if only for the soul fact that it introduced me to the Souls series.

I would honestly put Sekiro on the same line with Dark Souls and Bloodborne IF you think of it as it's own game and not as a Souls game.

I would say this because Sekiro gets rid of one of the best parts of those games, the diversity in weapons and leveling.

In Sekiro, you only have your katana and no other weapons, they tried to make prosthetics a replacement for the lack of the weapons but it does not work as there are only a select few prosthetics worth using. If you look past this though, the game is fantastic.

Level Design:

Sekrio's use of verticality in it's level design is fantastic. The level design is awesome. The game also rewards you for traveling and discovering new areas as the prayer beads are littered all over the place. There aren't any areas that stick out to me as absolutely hating, I have several areas that come to mind in the other games, for example I hated the area where you fight Seth in Dark Souls 1.

Bosses:

There are only a handful of bosses that actually stick out to me as being particularly memorable. The majority of the bosses are not very difficult nor very easy, and the design on many of them are very generic, but they all work. None of the bosses are bad bosses. One of the most memorable bosses for me was the first boss I fought the Butterfly (I don't remember her exact name). That boss fight was difficult, her design was cool as it made her fighting style unexpected, and overall it was fantastic. There weren't many bosses like that though. That isn't entirely a bad thing as every boss fight was enjoyable and the ones that were memorable were extremely memorable, but don't expect Dark Souls level of memorability in it's bosses with Gwyn, O & S, Nito, 4 Kings, etc. I also didn't think Bloodborne had many memorable bosses and that's one of my most favorite Souls Games (and the most like Sekiro)!!

Difficulty:

A very important aspect to Souls games is it's difficulty. Sekiro, IN MY OPINION, was not super super difficult. Most bosses could be easily cheesed and were predictable after the first couple of attempts. Being a Souls veteran, that may be swaying my opinion, but it just wasn't as difficult as I thought Dark Souls 3 was. That's not to say it isn't hard, it is, some bosses were insanely hard including DK, that took me a super long time, but it is not the hardest. When I play Souls games, I typically have extremely low defense and dodge and parry as much as possible (except in DS1 because those bosses aren't parryable, but i still have fairly low defense and dodge as much as possible rather than block) as I just find that much more fun. Sekiro is mainly about parrying and dodging as blocking is not very useful, so perhaps that is also influencing it, but it wasnt the hardest in the world.

Mechanics:

This one will be short. Parrying is good, do it. Dodging is essential do it. Prosthetics are eh. Stealth is pretty cool. Reviving is neat. Ok.

Soundtrack:

It's good, not memorable again, but good. No complaints here.

Overall:

Yeah. It's a good game, if you enjoy Souls games you will enjoy this game. Looks great plays great and best of all its very fun. You will have a good time. It's not my favorite Souls game, but it definitely is up there as one of the best. I like it alot. If you have the money to shell out, I would say do it but if not you should probably wait for a sale but I would say it is 100% a great buy. Your time played in the game will vary by how difficult you think it is and also by how many bosses you actually decide to fight. Great game though. 9.1/10

This game is cool and interesting and is definitely worth the time, but it is way too short. It caught my interest for sure though.
