I can understand the criticisms from people about this game not being a true SH game or just being too different or too souls-like but honestly, I had so much fun with it. I really enjoyed the story of Hinako and exploring a fictional Japanese town in the 60s. I can agree I wasn't really a fan of the combat sections and the amount of enemies at times but with the updates making them almost trivial and adding an extra mode to just clean up on achievements- the devs really put a lot into the game and it shows!! Be warned the UE5 engine will cause massive traversal stutters at times but the game looks so beautiful and the story is really engrossing and heartbreaking yet beautiful in its own right. Just a slight warning, you have to beat the game multiple times to get the "true" ending but trust me, it is well worth it. If you're a fan of SH games and are on the fence, just take the plunge. It's a good side story within the SH realm and worth a playthrough or 4.

Only four hours in and I'm having the time of my life playing this. Some optimization issues and frame drops (2080) in seemingly random parts of the game so far but despite that, everything else has been so fun. I haven't touched Silent Hill 2 since the og back on the PS2 so this has been a treat trying to relearn a new game. If you're in doubts of getting it, just do it. This game has been such a treat so far and it's only going to keep giving. Will add more to this when I beat it for the first time.

EDIT: So, after beating this game, it is safe to say that Bloober Team really put everything they could into this and it shows. This was a genuine 10/10 experience and I really enjoyed every moment of the game- even when I was getting terrified during the prison section. They definitely captured the essence of the original game and modernized it, elevating the experience to something that is worthy of being called Silent Hill. I really hope if they do get to remake 1, 3, and 4, that they do them as much justice as they did 2. I definitely would trust them with those 3 after playing this. If you are on the fence on buying or playing this, definitely go for it. Such a fun experience and worth the money if you've been craving playing a modern GOOD Silent Hill game.

I've played the entire trilogy only twice through, once in 2012 and another time last month. Mass Effect 1 and 2 I've played a total of 20+ times combined before 3 came out and I love those games so so so much. The combat is fun, the story is good, the characters are all amazing, and I just love this series so much and hold it in such a high regard. Being able to make your character in ME1 and run through all the games with things coming up that you did in past games makes it so engaging and really puts you in the shoes of Shepard. I have nothing but good things to say about each of these games (as bad as the Mako is in ME1, nostalgia purely fuels my love for it) and each one is an improvement on the last.

1- Definitely aged, you can tell as soon as you start playing it feels like a game that came out in 2007. Still, the most RPG like out of all 3 of them and has a lot of really memorable moments. All of the classes are fun, and getting to explore the galaxy for the first time and meeting the party members one by one is a treat.

2- Huuuuuuuge difference from 1. Definitely more third person shooter-esque and a lot more linear but it still has the ME charm in it. To me, its story reminds me of a spy movie that builds up to this crazy finish and all of the fun for me in 2 is just trying to keep everyone motivated and surviving the final mission. Some characters are hit or miss but the DLC is definitely cool and the one that ties this game to the third one is really sick.

3- I have only played this one twice, once upon release, and second last month. I definitely had so much fun the second time around and doing the DLC and getting the better endings definitely made me change my mind about the third one. The combat is at its best in this game and it truly feels like an RPG akin to ME1 and less linear but still feeling fluid like a third person shooter. Lots of clunk, gameplay wise, removed from this one to make ME3 a good send off. Obviously there's moments where you can tell they had to rush out this games release but that is EA being EA. The Citadel DLC is one of my favorite ones and its such a sweet moment seeing all of the party members from the last few games come together and have a wonderful send off before the story ends.

All in all, if you're on the fence, just buy it. You get over 100 hours of content out of these games combined, can replay them and change things up with different classes, dialogue choices, and romances. Definitely worth $60 and super worth if it's on sale. The Mass Effect trilogy will ALWAYS have a special place in my heart and I will ALWAYS hype it up to anyone that asks.

Truly a 10/10 experience in my eyes. I enjoyed it all when I was 13 and now I'm 25 still feeling super giddy when asked about it. GET IT!!!!
