I can't believe this game was sold for so little, but I am glad it was.

Got the 66% off coupon from Darkest Dungeon, and since its the holidays sale I decided to check this game out.

I mean, if its got something to do with Darkest Dungeon then it's gotta be a RPG where you explore dungeons, loot, fight bosses and such, and I sure wasn't disappointed.
Sunk a few hours into the game, first with the Warrior character you need to play before unlocking the other characters - rogue and mage - and then I switched on the the Mage because who doesn't like a good frost mage?

My experience overrall has been great, the dungeons are procedurally generated so, even if they look the same, their layouts are always random and interesting, full of treasure to find, hidden enemies and barrels you just gotta break. The enemies are very well thought out, if extremely annoying to deal with, and this game offers a ton of replay value, not only with three different difficulties - I'm playing on Normal just have a relaxing experience, but will change over to Roguelike once I'm done with this playthrough - but multiple characters and the keys you can get to replay bosses.

Performance-wise, this game shouldn't be too taxing on any computer, the paper aesthetic doesen't demand much, I think, but the effects, such as fire on the ground, multiple enemies hurling magic at you at once can destroy your FPS entirely, but the game never once crashed on me and I never encountered any game-breaking bug or glitch, speaks volumes about the polish of this game.

The card system is also a great touch, altough it feels to me it's just a "re-skin" of the equipment and skills system you'd normally find in RPGs, so it's a nice idea but one I don't think has much of an impact in setting this game apart from the others.
Another huge positive aspect is how the player can control how long and how much they want to play of the dungeon in a single session, choosing between some pre-selected options, from Very Small through to Big and also with custom sliders, so if you're in a hurry or just want to wind down with a quick session of play, you can tailor your experience for whatever situation you're in.

The only ARPG I've ever played before this one was Diablo 3 on the PS3, so I never was a huge fan of this genre or had much contact with it, but this game sure turned me around. I'll keep accompanying this game's progress from now on and the other Return 2 Games games avidly.

Strongly recommend it for anyone looking for a fun dungeon crawler to lose some hours in, great experience overrall.
If you have the Darkest Dungeon coupon, don't pass on this game, its not as stressing as Darkest Dungeon - if thats what you're into - but I can guarantee you'll have fun.

Also, plz add linux support ;)
