After posting in the official softlock megathread on the EA forums and waiting 2 months, I am finally able to progress with the main story quests after being dead in the water since September. I have no idea if this issue was officially patched, or if someone on their support team manually adjusted my account progress to get me unstuck. Keep that in mind.

Let me start by saying that I enjoy the core gameplay. If you enjoyed the feel of skate 2 and 3 you'll be right at home here. The trick list is still a little lacking compared to Skate 3, but I'm sure they're still working on it. Performance is a little lackluster given how simple the visuals are. I'm rocking a 9700k and an RTX3080. My CPU gets fried playing this at 1440p. Kinda crazy. I've noticed that I get much better performance when I'm not surrounded by other players. Not surprising.

My main gripe is that I've been stuck in an early mission due to a progress-halting bug that prevents me from moving forward. It's been busted since coming to Steam. I'm glad they're releasing a season pass in early access, though. Surely that money will go toward making the core game functional.

I'll update this review if they fix the problems I'm experiencing.

Runs like total ♥♥♥♥ in Cities, has abhorrent DLC, but is a fun game. Wait until they patch out the performance issues and give it a whirl.

Fantastic game that rewards players who stick with it. There will always be a learning curve for those who come back after not playing for a while, but a few youtube videos will get you back up to speed. I also recommend finding an active group of people to do end-game activities with to really get the full experience.

When attempting to run this title, it asks for a product key that is no longer provided through the steam client. This title is essentially unplayable unless you feel like contacting EA support with a proof of purchase, then they will give you a key for it through their Origin launcher. It's just a big stinky mess.

The amount of small sanity molesting bugs in this game literally make me want to put my head in an oven.

Siege has had and continues to have it's fair share of issues, but despite that, the game is fantastic. Great gunplay, unique gameplay, and a bevvy of unique operators and maps lead to a game that still has me saying "oh wow, how did they just kill me from there, I've never seen that angle" even after hundreds of hours played. I hate this game for a week and then love it again. Highly recommended.

Atmospheric. Well Paced. Bloody. Nostalgic. Everything that a game that totes itself as "retro inspired" should be.
