The quintessential Tower Defense experience from mobile days, Kingdom Rush is one of the genre-defining TD games of our time. You need to choose your tower placement strategy wisely to maximize the damage output. You also have a hero, reinforcements and a handy fire spell to enable macro strategy, very unique to the genre when the game first came out. Gameplay is smooth as butter and you quite hardly get tired of watching hordes of enemies walking towards their doom. A must play if you like TD games.

Kingdom Rush Frontiers is the peak game of the series for me. Pure tower defense at heart yet you have the meaningful macro decisions in placing your hero and reinforcements and raining fire over the enemies. All towers have fun upgrades and the heroes are very fun to play. Compared to the original game, Frontiers replaces the hero experience system with a more meaningful one where they accumulate experience per save instead of resetting it after each stage. The game itself feels very balanced even though there's a ton of content and different types of enemy environments and factions.

Completing a save takes roughly 20-30 hours depending on your competence and pace. Have fun!

Having played many games about Japan (with a BIG emphasis on the word *many*) this is easily my favorite one. The graphics are insanely good, the combat flows like water, the world is alive and vast and the setting feels like you are actually part of the historical era. The level of detail is just mind-boggling. The photo mode has so many options, the music is epic. Even the smallest quests feel substantial. The progression is very rewarding and organic and the tech trees have plenty of options to choose from.

The biggest plus for me in a story-driven open world game is definitely the fact that the game doesn't assist you too much. The game might nod you using that new stance against enemies that are weak to it. I have never in my 13 hours of play time felt backseated or bored.

This game is very addictive if you like samurai, Japanese culture and/or history and 1v10+ combat. Highly recommended!

PS. I just found out (before writing this review) that this game has co-op up to 4p. That is absolutely insane.

Played for +200hrs on Battle.net in addition. The FPS gameplay is the most fun and addictive there is on the market. However I do not like the pricing policy of Bungie or how they have some content locked away for good (especially Leviathan raid). If there was a middle of the road review button... however I still think the gameplay and the fact that the base game is free and old content is cheap makes this a recommendation for me.

2015 was a year of great games. This is my personal GOTY that year.

Undertale is a game about a human who fell into the Underground and is trying to get back to the Overworld. Beneath the surface lurk many monsters in a society not dissimilar to ours. The game has rich storytelling, many bones and dog-related puns, interesting combat mechanics and great replay value. The Underground is teeming with secrets to unearth, easter eggs to experience and a lot of fun dialogue and jokes.

I love three things about this game: 1) the breaking of the fourth wall at the right places and sometimes in ways you'd not expect; 2) the colorful characters and their backstories bring a ton to the storytelling aspect of the game; and 3) the absolutely amazing soundtrack that includes so many genres and instruments that I still listen monthly to this day.

The game is surprisingly deep and has a moderate amount of overlapping content with DELTARUNE (although they happen in different worlds). The game(s) thus have a large community of active theorists who try to make sense about the underlying plot of it all. After all, there's so much more to the game than it seems.

MASTERPIECE

LBAL is a game about paying rent. You need to watch spinning symbols that give you money (with the help of items and possible synergies) as you wage war against your capitalist landlord and ever-increasing rent. Your fellow communist neighbor will assist you on your journey. It's fun and addicting, what more can I say? The dev and community are really friendly too.
