Been eagerly keeping an eye out on this one for a long time and it's so awesome to finally get a chance to fun around in this beautiful world! There's a few things that are a bit rough around the edges, but the overall diversity / purposefulness of the movement makes for a super fun time :)

While a bit rough around the edges atm, there's some interesting stuff here that I'm excited to see tuned up for launch!

Fantastic game that really nails the whole "roguelike city-builder" idea with a super tight gameplay loop and expansive game mechanics that keep the whole thing fresh and funky as you go.

I think the one downside I have is that as the difficulty goes up, so too does the length of time taken to complete each settlement. This isn't inherently bad, but for me this was a great game to hop into on an evening to do a single settlement. Now I'm lucky if I finish a settlement in 2 sessions, even when making heavy use of the game speed utility. In essence, enjoying the game enough to reach late-game difficulties has sort of edged the game away from being something I can fit into my free time!

Regardless, the game is a refreshing blast of intriguing, well designed systems, done up with a wonderful aesthetic and great vibes. I genuinely can't recommend it enough.

Top-tier card game with an interesting team-based twist and a refreshingly compelling level of depth.

I've poured a lot of hours into this because the core gameplay itself is really fun. There are a number of problems with both the game and the game's release that means I cannot recommend this title. TLDR - the game doesn't respect your time in the way it's mission loop is built and the launch content has been stripped back to a barebones husk of what it should be.

1. The game has released with a tonne of missing content, even the crafting system wasn't included at launch. This is not acceptable in a full-price release.

2. The 'mission select' feature of the game has no respect for your time. You can't choose a specific mission to play at a difficulty you choose, instead you must rely on the whims of their map rotation to give you something you want. It worked in Deep Rock Galactic because of the super levels of map generation and robustness of content. It doesn't work in something as non-generated as this.

3. There is a serious lack of overall content and progression. It has launched with a fraction of what Vermintide 2 had at launch, again with a lot of promises for things to come that are very clearly cut content. There are even penances (achievements) in the game mentioning content that doesn't currently exist!

Super chill game, excellent vibes and lots of interesting, system-driven gameplay that can be delightfully explosive with one wrong move. Returning from a long break since trying in Early Access, the new story addition and actual ending is refreshing to see. Highly recommend!

A refreshing and delightful head ♥♥♥♥ with some impressive technology holding it all together. Manages to keep the pacing fresh and interesting without overstaying it's welcome, it feels like it's exactly as long as it needed to be.

Highly recommend!

Great game, hats off the the developers, for serious. Unfortunately though, I can't recommend for other reasons.

I got this game through humble choice and I now find there is no way for me to play the DLCs without COMPLETELY REPURCHASING THE ULTIMATE EDITION OF THE GAME. The publisher (505 games) removed the ability to purchase the DLCs separately. What the hell is up with that? Absolutely vile publisher strategy and a totally crap anti-consumer move.

Not one to leave negative reviews but here we go:

- Combat is neither fast-paced not interesting -
There a new enemy types shown, that are then copy pasted in the same way over... and over... and over. Boring and uninspiring level design. Even the puzzles are reused endlessly.

- Game feel is bad -
The camera needs zooming out by at least 30%, you're so close you can barely focus on anything on screen and it all kind of merges together. This is partially down to the horribly 'reactive' camera that shakes and zooms everywhere with little input. Finally, the movement and combat feels unbelievably slow. There is literally rain and environmental visuals that move faster than your attacks. I think it's on purpose and it honestly makes the game feel like it's running below framerate (you can only tell it's not by the unimportant faster elements).

- Possibly the worst intro to a game I've seen -
Frame 1 of the game you're already talking to a character. They info dump you with 2 paragraphs of jargon world lore and then send you on your merry way. Except you're not merry, your miserable. You aren't introduced to the character you're talking to, you have no idea who your character even is and the games complete lack of an attempt to piece anything together coherently makes for a terrible first impression.

TL:DR
This game feels like someone had a few game ideas they wanted to try and a fantasy world in their head, and they failed to put either of them together into anything that felt good.

Beautiful looking game with insane environmental destruction and a banging soundtrack.
