"Where must we go, we who wander this wasteland, in search of our better selves?"
-The First History Man

I just completed all the achievements for this game, so I thought I'd drop some thoughts. Mad Max is a solid and immersive experience, though it does have some significant flaws that prevent it from being amazing. The story is fitting for a Mad Max tale, though like the films, it's the action that makes the game fun. There is some interesting mysticism sprinkled here and there as well. Max himself fits the reluctant hero archetype very well. His sidekick, Chumbucket, acts great as Max's foil and comic relief to the harshness of the wasteland, which itself is beautifully rendered. There are other characters scattered here and there, though not enough for the player to care for them. Ground combat follows the Batman formula; various finisher unlocks help keep it fresh. Vehicle combat is where the game shines as you can upgrade your car to have some killer weapons and defensive items.

PROS:
-Performance (Best PC port in a long time, looks beautiful, runs smooth)
-Vehicle Combat (You can harpoon stuff!)
-Environments (Lots of detail for an open world; the wasteland is filled with all kinds of scenes that tell a story of the apocalypse without having to spell it out for you. Lots of cool and disturbing imagery all around. I found myself in the game's great photo mode grabbing amazing screenshots that now serve as awesome wallpapers)
-Immersion (You are Max, and you are a cold, yet broken badass. Very easy to get lost in this wasteland, much more interesting to me than the other post apocalyptic game right now)

CONS:
-Side quests too repetitive / too much grinding
-Lack of End Game content (This is what keeps this game from being amazing; you spent a long time upgrading Max and your car, only for the game to be virtually empty by the time you are ready to be a true Road Warrior. The best vehicular combat scenarios, the convoys, for instance, never respawn. The game is desperately in need of a way to reset enemy camps and convoys, or a New Game+ mode.. not sure this will happen as Avalanche is busy with Just Cause 3)
-Difficulty (It's pretty easy, and you can make Max pretty overpowered pretty fast - could use a Survival mode of some sort)

OTHER THOUGHTS:
I'm not a completionist usually, but for this game I didn't want it to end so I did a lot of grinding that I don't like doing. Note: If you want to 100%, look at the challenges first and plan your attack; if you get rid of all Threat Level in the game too early, it will be very difficult/annoying to complete some of the challenges required. See End Game comments above.

Where are the War Rigs? Would be awesome if the convoys had big trucks that you had to board. Imagine fighting War Boys on a moving behemoth, before finally taking out the driver and hijacking the truck. Generally this game needs more convoys and maybe even convoy escort missions.
