My favorite fps of all time until the horrendous engine upgrade, vomit-inducing new UI, and disgusting over-the-top levels of monetization. With skins like Ghostface from Scream and celebrities like Post Malone running around in 19th Century Louisiana, the soul of this formerly amazing game was sold for 30 pieces of silver. With over 800 hours of playtime and ~$60-$70 spent over two years, in early 2024 I would have recommended this game to every single person. But I can't in good conscience recommend the atrocity that Hunt has become. One of the most depressing and infuriating downfalls in gaming I have ever seen. Just so unfortunate.

Engine "upgrade" -- created more bugs and more crashes (cursor on screen, random crashes to desktop, unable to load into games, etc.)

UI overhaul -- pushes the battlepass on multiple screens, tripled the number of clicks to access your loadout, was customized with consoles in mind (despite the majority of players being on PC), and often gets stuck on a screen that requires you to click further into the sub-menus before exiting. I could not believe that this UI made its way past the devs who supposedly have thousands of hours in this game, because it is so poorly optimized for the PC user's experience.

Monetization -- constant new events with battlepasses (same price, but fewer skins/rewards), the battlepass being pushed on multiple screens/menus (you have to usually click through the battlepass before you can go to your loadouts), and now they're collaborating with movie franchises and celebrities to push skins that don't at all fit the aesthetic or lore of the game that compromises the experience.

This game does not save my progress. I have read both a Steam Community thread (https://steamcommunity.com/app/1282100/discussions/0/3809533247342551400/) and a Reddit thread (posted by the developers themselves -- https://www.reddit.com/r/remnantgame/comments/156syue/technical_information_and_troubleshooting/) that discuss various ways to fix broken save files. None of the suggestions worked for me. I lost over three hours of progress. After implementing the suggestions, the game continually rewrites my save file to start me at the beginning of the campaign. After spending an hour trying to figure out how to get the game to stop erasing my progress, I finally gave up on this garbage.
