Funny and fun puzzles, especially in co-op :) and the workshop is full of a ton of actually difficult puzzles, which bumps up the value proposition significantly.

Every time I play a different space strategy game, it just makes me come back to this one. It's really really good. My only disappointment was that the Umbral Choir expansion didn't commit hard enough to them being a hivemind; it's constantly contradicted by the flavor and mechanics. But every other species's unique Thing is really cool and interesting.

One of my most favorite games of all time. Irreversibly impacted how I engage with media. Two of the songs from the soundtrack still make me weepy years later.

I wanted to love this game, but I was eventually forced to admit that I actually think it's super boring. The marketing makes it seem like there's a ton of interesting stuff you can do, but everything I did felt the same. It kept *telling* me I was doing different and interesting stuff in text, but that didn't translate to my *experience* at all.
The trailers on the steam page are pretty misleading, as well: Stellaris is part of a genre I call "menu games". My wife loves those, but the only one I've personally ever liked was Democracy 4.
I do admire the way the devs are constantly doing stuff with this game; if I actually liked the game I'd probably adore that kind of continuing support. The total price of all the dlc is kind of nuts though, and who knows how much of it is even worth it. Maybe I'll give Stellaris another shot someday, since I can't refund it, but at this current juncture I have to say that I had way more fun playing Endless Space 2.
