Every generation, a game is released that defies expectations. Most film-to-game adaptations are cheap, money grabbing, emulations that are tired and uninspiring. When Indiana Jones and the Great Circle was announced, I, like many others, was skeptical at first. I felt the same when Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor was revealed. However, what a surprise that turned out to be, eventually becoming GOTY for many fans. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, in my opinion, is the very same. A surprising and excellent game in it's own right, regardless of leaning on the nostalgia and quality of it's film predecessors. Everyone should play this game and enjoy a rollicking action adventure that is a lot of fun.

A timeless adventure beautifully remastered. I come back to Broken Sword now and again to be reminded of how games can tell an intricate story, brimming with mystery and wonderfully developed characters. I should also mention that the use of AI to remaster Broken Sword was done tastefully and this is a good example of the how and when AI should be used.

The robots in Talos Principle 2 are more human than the humans they replaced.

This evolution is indicative, not only, of the game's direction, but also the heart of the story and unenviable task of trying to surpass your predecessor. By challenging that assertion, metaphorically, Talos Principle 2 is a game that shows how difficult it is to understand what made Talos Principle 1 a great game and how one might go beyond that success to create something even better. Contending with that problem is the crux and center of Talos Principle 2 when you consider the original game's unexpected success and cerebral machinations. In the end, the game will appeal to some, and possibly not others, but I take the position that the challenge and effort put into overcoming that challenge deserves recognition. Croteam have produced a fine sequel that will rattle your brain between puzzles and asking you 'What is the purpose of life'?

I hope this isn't the last we see of this excellent franchise.

If you played The Secret of Monkey Island and LeChuck's Revenge in the 1990s, then why are you reading this review?

Walkthrough:

Select 'Use' and then click the left mouse button on 'Add to Cart'. Then 'Open' wallet and 'Pick Up' credit card.
'Look at' the numbers on the credit card and 'Push' the corresponding keys on your keyboard.
'Close' your wallet and do not 'Talk to' your significant other for at least three days.
When you reach the end of Return to Monkey Island 'Pull' out that handkerchief you have been saving since LeChuck's Revenge and 'Give' your eyes a wipe.

Thank you Ron, Dave, and the team for creating a wonderful world to explore, laugh, and cry. A journey that has been more than 30 years, but it was worth it.
