This game is a true hidden gem, it's got tons of replayability, fantastic gameplay, interesting survival and automatisation. It's minecraft and Terraria but more fun!

Absolutely love it... And have I told you yet it's totally coop playable? And it's pretty cheap to boot, especially for the hours you'll be able to pump into this!

They took the ship section out of Warframe and attached their own far less interesting lore and story to it. Otherwise pretty much exactly the same gameplay but... less dynamic. I'd pass unless they vary the gameplay a hundredfold by launch.
It's not a bad game per se... it's just worse than the inspiration.

Know what you're getting into, this is not GOTY material. It's a competent survival game with decent mechanics (and quite a bit of jank), and a fine storyline to play through.
It has a strong "we have Subnautica / Planet Crafter at home" vibe, which brings very little new to the table, but it'll pleasantly fill 30-40 hours of your time to play through.
The shipbuilding mechanic is limited but okay, by the time you get the interesting bits, most of the content has run out and there's little incentive to go on.

This game is a true hidden gem, the gameplay loop is excellent, and the difficulty just right. A ton of fun! See it as a Subnautica without jump-scares.... And on land!

THis game is too punishingly difficult, seems like the devs have listened only to the most hardcore players and anything on medium is just too damn hard and not fun at all. I see no way to even do this on harder difficutlies! There are simple speed limits to how fast your ants can kill and gather food. Hundreds of retries to no avail. I got up to the sea level and "go outside" is a trap in the first day as you simply don't have the numbers to even gather anything except something right outside your base. Day 2 they dangle a fish at you, but that means defeating two beetles that rip your ants to shreds in mere seconds. And night 2... The big wolf spiders will ♥♥♥♥ up any number of spiders in seconds and since they block any ants from refilling the eggs.... You can't even respawn until they deign to kill your queen.

If I want to play a quick-time game, I'll go drive of a bridge somewhere. 90% of the fights is quicktime or you're dead. They dress it up as if it isn't but if any enemy can two-hit you because you didn't press the right button at the right time, it's a quicktime event. And half the time it won't even register, the correct button press, not to mention that because of the endless waves that you cannot all block or dodge the chip damage makes it so you're constantly at low health so it's usually one hit that will take you out on failing a dodge or parry. Frustrating, annoying, looks good but that's it.
(played on Veteran, the RECOMMENDED way to play the game)

Early Access Review
Is this it? Somewhere around the 10-20 hr playtime mark you will probably get such a feeling. Persevere, the tutorial has almost ended...
Yup, whatever anyone tells you, you're not in the full game yet. You're in a an early very stretched out loop of finding marginally better equipment and unlocking cards by doing a boss in a dungeon. But that's not the game. The game starts when you get your real quest, get to the Watch. Now all that going around and all those cards you unlocked suddenly make sense. Those monsters you killed with weird drops, suddenly click, as when you use those materials with whatever you can find in the highest areas you can manage, you can make your game much easier (or harder) for yourself, when designing your own gear. Those recipes you find in each and every biome and "difficulty" (astrolabe, provisioner, ..) , they're all part of the tutorial. And that sets you up for when you finally reach the watch.
Boss dungeons, even harder difficulties of all those realms, legendary creatures, combining and finding the specific materials to make your ultimate shotgun / rifle / revolver / melee weapon, with your type of enchantments.
Wonderful new building styles to unlock, new weapons that actually take some work to unlock, materials that are dangerous to gather and thousands of combinations to make your gear different and interesting, and more...
And then you'll appreciate the slow burn introduction, as it was all a tutorial of which the seeds now sprout into an amazing game. 50 hours of fun, of which only a few were a bit meh when it sags a bit, until you realise the game just really started. Which other early access game has given you that much content, with so much more just on the horizon (that I haven't unlocked yet)? And with these types of games that is still only the beginning, because I am sure Inflexion has a lot more planned...

This is the weirdest thing I ever played and it's brilliant. Pretty decent boomer-shooter apart from that too!

This is by far the best game of the year. Very addictive gameplay loop, a strange concept that somehow works incredibly well. Tons of meaningful choices, a lot of uncertainties in the game, but it's all about rolling with the punches and cleverly using what you have. Because the assets you have keep changing, or will have certain modifiers depending on the map, you're being kept on your toes and can't just go with one strategy to beat it all.
It's like taking all the weird and wacky properties of Dwarf Fortress and refining it to a sheen! If you like survival, builders, worker placement, and having to keep adapting to new things, this is the game for you!
