I have no idea what they're smoking over at CAPCOM for them to tie an insanely power-creeping endgame weapon grind to a gimmicky "cinematic" (heavily scripted and railroaded) monster fight that's only engaging the first time around. at best.

combat lifted off DMC without any of the good things, annoying 2005 QTEs constantly killing what little enjoyment one may get from exploration or "dramatic" setpiece moments, dreadfully boring "open" world, absolutely awful sidequest design that is more akin to early 2000s MMO throwaways than a modern RPG, mediocre characters and a plot that tries to be mature without a shred of subtlety or anything substantial to say.
Yoshi P was apparently adamant in taking all the bad things about his other game and jamming it into this one.
Outside of a pretty interesting setting with bits of cool worldbuilding this game is not worth the time, money or storage space.

It a good game
