Pretty good Indie FPS made by a very small team, refreshing to see these days with so much slop in both Indie and AAA industry...
Has a very unique artstyle!

Good aspects:
- Wide variety of weapons that you unlock through the game. From very old-school and normal looking guns to alien and arcane ones.
- Option to dismantle said weapons (permanently) if you don't like them to upgrade the ones you like.
- Very weird/charming unique enemies through the Worlds (enemy variety a bit lacking in World 5).
- Aesthetically pleasing Worlds with good OST.

Possible Improvements:
- Game is on the easier side of things even with the Demon/Dark Souls vibes. You have bonfire-like spots spread through levels that restore you to full health/mana (and health/mana "flaks"), but enemies DON'T respawn... Maybe a more Hardcore mode in the future?
- In some terrain the lightning gets ♥♥♥♥♥♥ when its dark and you activate your "flashlight" bird companion.
- Some enemies feel very "spastic" in their AI, really fast movements turning around and then suddenly shoot you in the face (or execute their melee animations). Maybe by design? It sure helps in the scary factor of some of the more creepy ones.
- Game has MULTIPLE endings (I believe I did all the sidequests and got Ending D, so it has at least 4 Endings) and permanent decisions (like dismantling weapons and other plot things near the end), but no way to "separate" playthroughs from what I've seen.

Early Access Review
Episode 1 is pretty damn good, really fun weapons to use and enemies to kill

Episode 2 for some damn reason the devs took away your guns and you have to do a bunch of non-fun ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, no thanks

Setting is fine, really unique color set.

But gameplay is way too bland and easy, not worth it

Shorter than The Citadel but same Marathon-style, pretty fun for the price.

Cute dialogue and characters.

Arena mode can get pretty hard.

- Gacha mechanics in Seasonal ARPG feels weird
- You can roll a legendary Pactspirit really good for Spell Damage while playing a Melee character for example
- Don't like that the playable melee character (Rehan) does good damage only when the Rage is up and Bursts happen, feel like the rest of skills used dont matter much
- Has systems that give you power that are not tied to gear (and not talking about the passive tree which is fine)
- Graphics too cartoony
- Only item that changes on the character is the weapon used

Great JRPG, some really good soundtracks

I watched a plot summary of the previous 3 games and it helped a lot to understand some emotional beats of the story later on

This game is an interesting mix of Danganronpa/Visual Novel/Open-world exploration with a heavy dose of vaporwave aesthetic sprinkled all over it.

The gameplay is all about building up evidence/statement/alibis/alibi-breakers surrounding several aspects of the Big Murder Case the protagonist gets called out of exile to solve, all for a final trial showdown after you feel you collected enough evidence on your Starlight laptop and have a good idea of who did what.

~~~The Good~~~
  • Building up the case - Your laptop will keep track of tasks/leads/things to do, plus the evidence for each case and individual. It's pretty satisfying filling them up as you do your detective work. It's important to go after laptop upgrades so you can unlock VERY relevant Computer Terminals across the island, pretty important evidence is locked behind them.
  • Exploration - There are a LOT of collectibles spread and hidden across the island, plus interactable objects like Fast Travel points. Some are pretty essential, like Evidence or Blood Crystals (which works as the currency of the game, and you will have use a LOT of it), others are Relics that build up the lore of the game and past stories (some of the Relics are just random junk) and Soundtracks. Specially important are Foot Baths (that cost 5 blood crystals each) that unlock movement abilities like Double Jump and Air Dash. The game really rewards the player for exploring every nook and cranny.
  • Soundtrack - It's pretty solid, and as you find the tracks themselves as collectibles you can even customize your own playlist on the laptop.
~~~The Weird~~~
  • Plot and Setting - The very first slides of lore that will be shown to you will make you wonder what the ♥♥♥♥ did I just buy, it's pretty weird and ridiculous and takes itself pretty serious somehow, but give it a chance as you slowly figure out your role in the Syndicate, what the Syndicate goals are and how the Islands work and you'll get used to the weirdness of it. Maybe.

  • Artstyle - This is down to personal taste, I didn't mind it. I suspect a lot of people will be turned off just by the artstyle of characters you interact as looking SJW/Tumblr-like.

~~~The Bad~~~
  • Running back and forth - It's something you'll find yourself doing as you build up more and more evidence, and you'll need to confront the characters a LOT. This is alleviated by the Fast Travel points and unlocked movement abilities but may still get on your nerves, I know it did for me, SPECIALLY for Akiko/Henry on that Detention Cell very far away from the main island.
  • Unused locations - There's a big Reactor and Underground Factory that is important to the Island maintenance but you don't get to explore those. Maybe I missed it some secret entrance on my run but it feels like the devs ran out of time?
If I had to give it a numerical score it would be around 8,5/10 so I do end up recommending it.
A decent 40k game that still has some lingering issues that the devs need to solve, but it's a LOT better than compared to some horror tales before patch 2.0.0
Recommend that you buy on sale since I do still think the price is a bit too high (could change, the devs are putting a lot of work these days...for now)
PRO:
-The devs knows their 40k lore if you're the type of person that really cares about that
-A lot of character customization (Perks/Passive Tree/Attributes/Crafting System) if you really want to personalize your play-style
-The three currently available classes (Crusader/Assassin/Psyker) do play differently, each has good voice acting, and while the Investigations/Storylines mostly play out the same, their dialogue is different from time to time, NOT copy-pasted
-A lot of weapons and equipment to play around (some of them exclusive to each Class)
-Killing hordes of chaos/xenos scum is VERY satisfying
CON:
-Major balance issues regarding weapons, Grav Gun is broken OP while others like Heavy Bolter/Plasma Cannon are hilariously weak
-Still feels "clunky" to play, you might get stuck in combat animations in hectic combat from time to time
-The cover system currently feels very vestigial
