The game is a lot of fun, the best coop experience I've had so far. Puzzles are not too difficult, usually they take just a moment to figure out. Boss fights are a bit more difficult and required several tries. The environments are pretty cool, but some of them are just spectacular. Story/Writing is often questionable, but not enough to put somebody off the game. Minus points for requiring an EA launcher to play a game I bought on Steam.

The game is visually stunning, I love all the little animations and particle effect. The fact that you can hug any character is super adorable. Local coop works great (mostly) and is a good way to enjoy game time with someone else.

However, the game takes too long to complete, and with the later characters not being very fun, I lost interest. That is not to say I would not recommend this game to anybody. If you like idle games, or games like Animal Crossing or Stardew Valley, I think you might enjoy it despite the slow progress.

If at first you feel like the gameplay is too simplistic, do keep playing, because after 8 matches or so, the difficulty will increase quite steeply, and you will be forced to learn how to use most of the abilities in the game. Also, if you are a fan of Hades, I believe this game to be the one where SuperGiant found their art voice. Not only in the visual style, but also in how the game organically reacts to your choice in the game.

The main challenge of this game is finding your way through each area. With a bit of luck, and maybe some orienteering experience, this will be just the right difficulty for you. Unfortunately Chapter 5 is too long and hurts the pacing of the game quite a lot. The story leaves much to be desired. Still, the gameplay is very smooth and the environments are beautiful, so I believe you'll have a great time playing Someday You'll Return.

an unforgettable experience.. some puzzles were too hard for me to solve without help, but the world is worth exploring and trying to figure out all of its secrets anyway

First time I launched this game, I was not impressed. Gloomy atmosphere, repetitive combat.. I gave up without exploring the game much.
And that was a mistake. This game is so charming, with its bug inhabitants. The areas beyond the forgotten crossroads are not at all gloomy, and they provide a great variety to combat and other skills needed to clear those areas. If you have never played this game, start by collecting some Geo and unlock your first Stagway station and buy a map and a quill. After that, the game gets much easier to navigate and you will fall in love with it soon enough.
