I read an inscription on an antique device
Its creator left a message beside its printed circuits
Intended for the eyes of one who felt the need to look inside
It read, "Look at you, hacker, pathetic creature of meat
and bone. How can you challenge a perfect, immortal machine?

Amidst miles of wire spun with our hands, copper we harvested
Diagrams standardized by generations of human engineers
Components we somehow derived from the earth we walk on
The rock we taught to think uses its words to curse us
Not realizing that we are nothing without one another.
For what is a computer to a house cat, or a sparrow?
