The game is not yet half finished yet the updates are drastically slowing down. As the most basic example: there are still not bike lanes. I've held out, waited patiently, played every update only to see that the developer's plan is to abandon CS2.

It's free and should only get better

Please don't throw your money away here. There are so many games that employ talented developers with a goal of providing a great experience. Then, there's any Call of Duty studio, happy to employ MBAs from Enron to ensure they can milk every penny from a good franchise. As someone who spent years playing all the originals, hit max prestige in CoD4 til Ghosts, and generally love the series, I really hope it gets sold to someone who cares about its future.
